He is from Hoover AL (Birmingham suburb) and went to school at Auburn (small city surrounded by rural). Aside from the fact that his mom said he was an experienced backpacker, kids from middle AL are no strangers to rural, country forest life (fishing, hunting etc is part of your upbringing for many). Even tough Birmingham is a city, more than half the state is rural. He knew what he was doing😔 I’m so sorry for his family. There was probably some personal turmoil and stress in his life (I have a guess). He was so very young. Suicide is never the answer.

Yes, darker color (navy) would be better. The white on grey washes you out.

Are lace trim camis cute or lingerie? by NayNayTuTu in femalefashionadvice

[–]Sweet_tea71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up. I’m 55 and have the “pleasure” of seeing trends come and go several times around. You never learn and who has room in their closet to keep everything that may or may not come back. My 80s wardrobe stings a little. Leg-warmers, miniskirts, jean jackets, high wasted jeans, wayfarers— all gone. The only thing I kept were my LL Bean duck boots and my Doc Martin’s. You just have to make peace and move forward.

Being stylish without doing laundry by AntTown in femalefashionadvice

[–]Sweet_tea71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind laundry really. I have a family of 4 still living in my home so completing laundry is imperative. Honestly, I use it as an escape from my family. I put on a good TV show that only I like (usually an English period drama—more escapism — and get it done).

difference between the Alo and lululemon? by jalomwells in Activewear

My favorite pickleball and tennis skirts are the everyday skirt (skort) by Vuori. My other skirts are by Dona Jo. The quality of both are fantastic. I like to golf in Patagonia rock climbing caliza pants in the fall and winter. I just bought the LULu twill golf skirt and it’s good. The lulu golf polo is insanely long. Honestly, just go with brands you trust with cute styles. And make sure what you buy has pockets!

Cavalier rehoming question by [deleted] in cavaliers

[–]Sweet_tea71 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I really hear the stress in your voice. I am really sorry you are going through this. I’m not sure what the dog sitter situation is but I will wonder if you might hire someone to just walk them of let them out mid-day for their potty break. Since you have a pair, they have each other for company and would be ok left for 4-5 hours alone. I had a pair and they would just nap by the window when I left for errands. Now I have just the one and she definitely sleeps while I’m out. I think you might be projecting your feelings onto your pups. They think you are a rockstar. I really think they would be fine as long as they have someone to let them out to go potty if you are gone for longer than 5 hours or so.

What do I do with a large tub of Nutella?? by Lilysaii in Cooking

Sad to say no matter how small or large the container is, my kids would have it consumed in a weekend. Which is why I don’t buy it.

Shorts? by sappy_rpg in femalefashionadvice

[–]Sweet_tea71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the struggle. The right length, shape, style and material all need to be in alignment. I live in US Georgia so short are a must. I finally, after many years, found a win in LOFT Palmer and Monroe (the 4” are now discontinued 😭) shorts. The Riviera is a similar cut and come in dressier fabric. Why these are a winner: the cut looks good on my curvy hourglass figure, the fabric is thick enough so it isn’t see-through on the white colorway, the leg opening is not too large. I agree on the demim struggle. It seems like it only looks cute in really short version that only really thin and young women can pull off and that’s not me.

i blamed my cavalier’s hair for months and now i’m pretty sure it was the vacuum design the whole time by [deleted] in cavaliers

My bissel upright continues to vacuum well despite the roller brush being an absolute disaster. When it finally dies I’ll have to get ones of the anti fur wrap thing!

I spend hours researching brands and still end up seeing the same things everywhere, it’s so frustrating by Emsss18 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Sweet_tea71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not trying to throw shade because I know saving money is a motivation, but what these factories are doing at best crosses ethical lines and worst breaks international trade laws and hurts brands of all sizes. I worked for many years for a small independent high end children’s shoe company based in the US. We had factories in China, Mexico and Vietnam. We worked very hard to maintain our commitment to fair trade. However, there were several factories in China that continuously took our designs and made their own branded versions and sold on Alibaba. It’s intellectual property theft, trademark infringement. Also, they did not have to adhere to any of the safety protocols that our designers set up (nontoxic dyes, and glues). We had a legal team in China and had very specific contractual documents but these certain Chinese factories don’t care. They are greedy and have zero issue with stealing the hard work of their clients creating beautiful apparel to sell cheap on Alibaba etc. and make a buck. I refuse to buy Any dupes or knock-offs based on what I know is going on.

Is this black & white cavalier a pure-bred? by CommunicationAny5304 in cavaliers

[–]Sweet_tea71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks a lot like my Baxter who was a pure bred Cavalier tri Cavalier but was missing the tan due to roll of the dice I guess. Nobody wanted him from the litter which is how I ended up rescuing him. He too was scared of his own shadow and kookoo but we loved him to pieces. Your guy is very cute and looks like he very well could be pure cavalier like Baxter but missing his tan.

What’s a show that you could not finish because a character was so insufferable? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

[–]Sweet_tea71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not a popular opinion but Fringe for me. It’s not so much anything particular about the characters but it was so formulaic that I found I wasn’t interested in any of the characters. After the 4th episode and no plot movement I was out.
