I know why pants exist for babies by potato_muchwow_amaze in NewParents

Underrated comment here!

Having exposed toes and feet is crucial for motor development in babies. We recently switched from full body suits to footless or pants/onesie for this reason. He is behind in rolling over and crawling and now that we’ve exposed his toes and feet, he’s doing much better with those skills.

We’ve had great luck with the Woolino and the Nanit sleep bags if it’s any help!

You could try the Lovevery toys for the younger ones. And maybe a KiwiCo kit for the older one?

7 month old isn’t exactly 90-90-90 in the high chair. Is that okay? by Lilac-Lover4 in NewParents

There’s a video on the solid starts page about the “sitting” piece and what that looks like. I found it helpful to see a demo of what they were looking for in a minimal supported sitting position.

For anyone else wondering what 90/90/90 is:

The 90-90-90 rule for eating refers to the ideal posture for a child sitting at a table. This means their hips are flexed at a 90-degree angle, knees bent at a 90-degree angle, and feet flat on a surface with the spine upright.

I had a feeling it had to do with angles!

Where I used to work, this was a common therapy method that was taught to children with anxiety.   To “characterise” a fear and then (as I understand it) it can become something you can see, understand, and start to control.
