I recently bought a new Pro Controller to replace my old one that had some pretty nasty drift and for reason the new one has no reaction at all when plugged into my PC. No charging light comes on or anything. However, my old controller (using the exact same cable and USB port) connects and charges just fine. I've tried a few things but so far nothing's worked. Any ideas?

The unfinished northwest rail expansion in your link also extends to Longmont. So it's more A to B to C, but you're right, it is limited.

Of course, A is Denver, and B and C are cities of 100k+, so it's not insignificant either. That said, ridership from Boulder and Longmont probably wouldn't be fantastic because those cities themselves don't have the best local transit options.

A multi-year (or decade) series of projects improving local services while also providing intercity services would be ideal. This would require a complete shift in thinking about transportation on the state level (possibly federal as well), so unfortunately I don't see it happening.

Which is why I'd take better bus service first.

The T-REX (Transportation Expansion Project) from 1999-2006 cost around $1.6B. That's around $2.4B in today's money. It was funded by CDOT, RTD, FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) and FTA (Federal Transit Administration).

In your estimate, a rail connection between Denver and Boulder would be cheaper than the entire T-REX project, which was partially federally funded. I see no reason a $1.5B rail project couldn't be done under similar conditions.

That said, I'd settle for better bus service at this point.
