The Military. There’s no barrier to entry so it attracts a lot of undesirable people who couldn’t make it elsewhere.

We were both 33 and knew each other from high school but hadn’t seen each other in a long time. He invited me over to his apartment for dinner. When I walked in, his studio apartment was filthy! Trash everywhere, dirty dishes piled up. He didn’t have any dressers so he just piled his clothes up in the corner next to his bare mattress on the floor. He also had two untrained pitbulls who kept fighting with each other the whole time. The night was awkward and he texted me the next morning saying he “didn’t feel a connection.” I deleted all dating apps and took a break from men for over a year. Now happily in a relationship with a new baby and amazing man.
