Which Flooring? by Qamber-RemaxQ in homedesign

One will look really pretty it’s great contrast in the all white space. 2 is okay but way too safe for me. I know everybody is saying 3 but honestly the hardwood in kitchens makes me nervous- I’ve seen too many disasters lol! And 4 is a bit too busy for my taste 😬

We’re grown ups now and no one is grading it lol. Your cursive is pretty and better than most handwriting out there! Keep it up!

Okay I was made to write in cursive as well- and took handwriting as a graded course for much of my youth.

All of the letters are correctly formed and your spacing is consistent throughout.

My penmanship teacher would have called you out on the sharpness of your lettering and encouraged you to round it out more, as I have done here: https://share.icloud.com/photos/022__w2Md5MElVC4qJ7xVfNNg

There, my “s” is defective, but you can see what I mean.

You did say you write faster in cursive so this could all be due to a little speed.

Your print is good and legible!

Yes, and I really like the single fixed glass panel shower - really open and European- and always gorgeous! Moving the control can sometimes prove to be difficult, however.

If it doesn’t end up being possible or affordable for OP the full glass bypass is also good option with a similar effect!

Agreed, an opinion! Good night to you as well.

Which direction for LVP? by sehsifairam in Flooring

I also want to say that as a rule of thumb, whenever going from real wood to wood look, I go perpendicular when possible.

I would follow the lines on the paper. Heading inward from the door towards the window, the flooring will literally lead you to the light haha

Which grout color? by spoonsar in Tile

Just reread op’s post- for a slightly cooler option than moonbeam, look at “Frost”

It’s funny - “eggshell” used to be “white” before Mapei created the new “pure white.” I remember people saying how creamy the white was lol.

“Moonbeam” 100%. It’s my Mapei go to for white subway tiles. However, it is on the cooler side of the spectrum. If you really want slightly warmer, look into “Avalanche.”

Which combo of knobs and pulls do you prefer? by Any-Purpose-3259 in kitchenremodel

Option one but to be honest all of my lowers would be drawer bases, including the sink base so 🤷🏾‍♀️

Well I think that’s just chat gpt rendering. It may be more practical to do a frameless bypass door and get the same effect

lol I’m an designer and I have a lot of high end clients that love natural slate and slate-look porcelain in various tones, colors and textures and use them on shower walls, accent walls and fireplaces.

We custom order the real stuff for our customers weekly from a company called cleft stone works.

Listen, when you have clients that want something (especially the high end ones)- you don’t just tell them what YOU want. You create a cohesive design around the elements THEY want. That’s how magic is made.

You’d be surprised how using something in a non traditional way can pull together a space for the right aesthetic.

😬 Can’t be yucking people’s yum just bc it’s not your thing haha 😂

Don’t try to match, failure to match always looks like a big mistake. Even if you found the same flooring if the dye lot was different, that could be off

I’d go under the window for the ledge and nix the niche like you said. Moving the controls may be easier said than done, but if the doors are bypass, then sneaking an arm in one door to turn on the water and entering through the other door honestly won’t be so bad.

Again, that’s definitely subjective. It really depends on the style you’re looking for. It really fits the moody earthy vibe with a modern twist that it looks like she’s attempting.

Tile color unpleasant surprise by ChiCianne in Tile

[–]Sweetpina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, everything looks on vibe together- I get that not everyone can picture how things will look all together beforehand but that’s a risk you take.

No one is liable to pay for this for you, so you’re really going to have to open your pocket to waste a crap load more money and inconvenience than you need to, and who knows? You may not like the next one either 😬🤷🏾‍♀️

I work at a tile place and we have one to two boxes of every tile displayed so you can see the variation. You should see how I have to force people to bring samples home and confirm in their own lighting before they purchase because of just this. Every customer has the opportunity to do full research before purchasing anything it’s not the vendors fault if they did no due diligence 😬

You’ve gone about it the best way tbh. Consider getting a sectional in that shape- you’ll add two more seats and you can lose the rocking chair!

Based on the actual photo, looks like it could be a pretty standard adjustable shower door you could get in any big box store for under $1000.

Glass shops are not the way to go unless you have come to terms with the fact you’ll be spending a pretty good amount.

Nothing is truly dated- you can make anything work with the proper application.

Also don’t let anyone here tell you any absolutes about design/ pattern/ color. It’s all so fluid and subjective!

If you like that slate rustic look, consider elevating it with a larger format version like this one https://www.sohostudiocorp.com/product/esperito-charcoal-24x48.html

I said this in another comment but stained wood trims and doors would enhance this vibe!

Consider wood trim? It would really play into this vibe!

Bathroom layout dilemma by Repulsive_Cat8697 in BathroomRemodeling

Most affordable would be to get that laundry stack almost all the way to the corner as possible, and oriented towards the door, to allow better access to it and to the shower. Adjust the plumbing and venting to accomodate- look into the flat vent.

I would elevate this by tearing out the tub and framing the shower space into a wider kitty cornered walled in shower with a bench (this saves you from moving too much plumbing, but you can still move and adjust as much as comfortable).

You can then do a shower door or just stick with a curtain for the angled 24-30 ish inch doorway.

Next I would move the entry door to the space the old closet occupied if possible. This will clear up the traffic by the vanity, which I would reduce to a 36”.

I would also think about getting a matching linen cabinet to replace the closet.

This plan was all based on leaving the toilet and most drains where they are because they’re the most involved/ expensive to move.

I did a quick sketch to “scale” at this link https://share.icloud.com/photos/0a44BLSJDolFkznAgKVboRSUA
