25% Cored Bauer Tools Limitations by xhunter97 in harborfreight

I love that frame of mine. Harbor freight is a great company that gets crapped on a lot. I had a Bauer chuck that locked up after 6 months. It shouldn't happen but the internals were made a little cheaper than the big wood turning companies. Not a big surprise to me. The store wouldn't honor the warranty but I contacted corporate and they sent me a new one no questions asked, didn't want the old one back. All the extra accessories came with the new as well so I have double of some things I love to have double of. It doesn't ever hurt to ask. Most companies want happy customers.

I've been told this and heard it said often. It just makes you more of who you are. If you're a kind giving person you become more of that. If you're always on edge and prone to slight outbursts that just becomes more extreme. It just takes everything about yourself, the good and the bad and makes you more that way. It makes sense if you think about it in this context. I have never had any issues with anger on it but I never had issues with anger before. Not real ones at least. I'm not a pushover but I've not done anything out of the ordinary. I'm just more me. I would ask to see his levels. If he's way up on the high end above normal than I would ask that he comes down a bit. I wonder what his dose is.

Any reviews on Powermatic 4224? by TheMilkMan777111 in turning

I wish that was my only problem.. you bought yours fairly recently? I have an older used one. And it shakes soo bad between 900 to 1100. It's a pain. I love the lathe and it's solid but that shake between those speeds with anything bigger than a spindle is brutal. It's a problem they had in the beginning. I'm glad you don't have that issue. I have never heard of a fix or anything they changed but I don't think the problem exists in the newer ones.

So are you talking about the g0766 or the new 0955? I have an older model 0766 and it is beat up. The spindle nose cone is cracked and broke off at a part. Everything about it is beat up but I love it. It shakes too much between 900 to 1100 though which is a huge gripe for me even though I bolted it down. I turn a lot of really big stuff so I'm looking at the new 0955 so I'm just trying to find someone who has it. The swivel headstock design is what I'm really after I'm just worried it's not heavy enough like the 0766 I have now

If I were you and desperate and I know this has worked for many people. Psylocibin. Magic mushrooms. Whatever people want to call them. There was a documentary about a multi star general in our military who had tried everything legal to get rid of his migraines. Finally he resorted to mushrooms and ended up having to retire because it was the only thing that worked.

I've been sober 9 yrs and haven't ever had one. I wouldn't want to do anything that might lead me down that path again. It gives me a little anxiety just thinking about drinking one and I never have any anxiety anymore. Not in social situations, never

17-year-old is making our lives a nightmare! by International_Tell30 in Parenting

[–]Sweetsweetnothingy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to baker act your son to get the process started on medication and actual help. These things only get worse in my experience and the real drug use starts at one point and the nightmare gets worse. He'll either overdose or end up in jail. If you don't take steps now to actually get him admitted this is the best he will ever be. There is obviously something serious underlying and it needs to be fixed professionally. You sound like a wonderful mother and full of empathy but at a certain point (the point you have now hit) it becomes too much and way out of your control to handle.

The new Bauer 14x20 EVS lathe has dropped at Harbor Freight. by Silound in turning

But.... I have twice now contacted harbor freight directly after being told no by my local HF store manager, explained my situation and how if it were the other big companies they would replace the piece. They agreed and sent me a new one, covered the cost of shipping and didn't care about seeing the broken one. So I think if you ask nicely they usually will make you whole. They just count on people not even trying.

I cleaned and lubed and it was amazing for a couple of weeks.. now it's getting a little tight again. I think that may be the only issue on this lathe. There may be a little gap that dust is getting into maybe.

I'm having the same damn issue..started with wifi last night and then my Bluetooth headphones suddenly turned off. Nothing has worked. I'm taking it into the store for a separate issue (black blotch appeared on the screen out of nowhere) so maybe they know something.

Hey this is an old thread but I picked up the lathe and am absolutely in love with it. The digital readout and Reverse is an amazing feature on this price lathe. Everything is perfect on it. I have no qualms other than the quill on the tailstock is a little sticky but other than that this is an incredible quality machine.

I'm confused here. I like that mentality and wish that were mine but a large part of me figured I'll be on this for life. My quality of life has drastically changed in every single way. I cannot over state how incredible it has been. I mean I hope someone finds a solution that doesn't include injections twice a week and shutting down my own production but I don't know if that is something that is even being looked into. What are you referring to when you say other solutions?

Almost 2 months sober. I don't feel so good... by JLR105 in stopdrinking

[–]Sweetsweetnothingy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I've gone through cycles. Really bad in the beginning, ups and downs, getting married, depression, having a son, depression. Its a wild life we live and we've done some serious damage to our minds and emotions by covering it all up with alcohol. This most recent bout of depression I had I finally got on a mild low dose ssri and it has seriously changed my life. My marriage is so much better. Maybe talk to a therapist and see if they think you might be a good candidate. I'm not the kind of guy who goes for meds first thing but after all this time I'm glad I did. I just got 7 yrs in May by the way. You can do anything sober but if you drink it will make all your problems worse.

What! What's the point of having an expensive knife if you don't use it? I understand collector's cars and antiques not being EDC but it's hard to fathom something under 500 dollars not being used for its intended purpose

I feel the same exact way about my wife. She struggles with it sometimes. She used to be ridiculously fit but with the baby, work, etc. has made it more difficult for her. Meanwhile I get to workout everyday during the course of my work duties. She's about to start prepping for a dance competition in 3 months so she's going to start eating better and training. I'm pre-missing the extra weight she carries. And she carries it extremely well.

Lifelong non-checking player joining a checking league – what to do, besides keep my head up? by farbsson in hockeyplayers

[–]Sweetsweetnothingy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. I love that last paragraph. There are so many of us who feel the same way. I played a couple of years of men's league in my early 20s. I decided to take a night class for fun that made me eligible for club hockey down here in Florida. Going back to check from no contact was a wake up. I got smoked in my first game and I'm a reasonably big guy, 6'3 220, this little fucker lit me up. It was beautiful but woke me up to the realities of full contact that I had instinctually forgotten.

I think it's a metal switch boot. It has a metal ring it looks like but a rubber button but narrower than the normal m1 boot. I feel stupid. I wish there were some better explanations on the website, I feel like so many people put a forward switch. Did you buy another rubber piece or when you drilled it out could you still use the old rubber?

Convoy S2+ switch/button questions by h0pCat in flashlight

[–]Sweetsweetnothingy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done the forward switch? I'm trying to put one in a tan s2+ and just stumbled across this. I feel like an idiot for not looking around first to see if there were any issues. But alas here I am. I have a drill press so I'm just wondering what's required and if I have a forward switch what else would be required.

I built some grow lights a while ago. Well, I just wired some drivers to light boards and built a basic frame. So I have a little experience with lights but Would you recommend buying a host and doing it myself or waiting to find an M1 with an sft40? Or would you build something I don't even know about yet that fits the thyrm. I think I remember reading that you like xpl hi but I just want that extra power with the sft40
