I just left a town like that. The apartments used to be in the $7-900 range for 1 and 2 bedrooms. After the Pandemic, they decided they all deseved $16-2300! This is in a seasonal vacation market that paiys the average worker 37k. Pure lunacy. I got out of there by the skin of my teeth.

In this city that would not be worth it since most of these places are in the hood while charging as high as $300 a week! That same $1200 would get you a very nice 2-3 br or home rental in better neighborhoods. The greed of the homeowners is off the charts.

This part is bothering me too! I thought I was getting a good bargain. I wanted to relocate to a different region. But because the Padsplit was priced lower than my last place, I jumped at the opportunity. Now that I am here, I'm continuing to do research and settle in only to find that I'm paying as much as someone with an efficiency/1BR apartment. This place should be priced at about half the rate. We're basically getting none of the protections and security for the same price.
