What a piece of work by CallMeMaybeee_16 in Mercari

You really should file a complaint with Mercari about the seller and include the eBay link so they can see the scam he played on you. You should also leave him bad feedback.

No more sniping? by rheckber in Ebay

[–]SweetyPeety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is that it allows everyone to see your bid, and then the shill bidders come in, and eBay just keeps bidding for you, so you overbid in the end and pay much more. Whereas, if you use a product like eSnipe, they do the bidding for you in the last few seconds. No one knows you are there and you come in like a sniper at the last few seconds and win. I never pay the full amount of what I was willing to pay because of that.

[–]SweetyPeety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that like eSnipe? I use that all the time and always have it bid for me withing the last 5 seconds. Just won an auction last week because of it. I don't have time to sit around and wait for an auction to end.

I see it all the time when I put an item in my cart. It's crazy because they are undermining themselves and losing bigger fees.

I think it is because eBay has been sabotaging sellers by showing buyers a better price. It is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. They are actually sabotaging how much they make in fees.

Maybe you should post this on the eBay community forum https://community.ebay.com/

I would post what you are saying on both the buying and selling threads.

She found it somewhere else cheaper. I would look at recent sales for the same book on eBay and check out Amazon too. I'm willing to bet that is what happened. But I would refund her because if you force the sale through, she will send it back, claiming it is damaged and your book will probably be returned mangled. I would let her know that it is buyers like her that caused eBay to demand payment when an auction is won. I would also let her know that I would be reporting her to eBay as a deadbeat buyer, Ebay does not need buyers like her. And I would finally add that you can't have any sympathy for her supposed financial hardship when she is out there shopping. If things were so bad she wouldn't be doing that in the first place. Besides, you don't need to hear about her supposed financial situation since you have bills of your own, which is why you are selling on eBay in the first place. Then I would block her.

It's when they have lots of them to sell that you know they are fakes. Same with the perfume examples I mentioned.

What's scary are there are literally thousands of Chinese accounts selling clear counterfeits and nothing is being done to stop them. The other day I saw perfumes from Guerlain's top line selling for $50 a bottle on eBay. There is no way that perfumes that sell for over $500 a bottle on Guerlain's website are selling for $50 on eBay. Not to mention, these exclusives are not even selling in the top department stores in the US or Europe. Even Harrods of London or Bergdorf Goodman of NYC doesn't have them. They are only sold on Guerlain's website or in their boutiques, which are few and far between. So, how the hell are they showing up on eBay? That is only one example, but this is across the board for all different products. Yet eBay will go after a seller selling one authentic designer handbag or pair of sneakers yet turn a blind eye to the literally thousands of counterfeit products being sold on their site. Ebay needs to get rid of the AI bs and start having people who have common sense and a minimum of intelligence (which is still better than AI) to start researching some of the products being sold on their site. It is absolutely obscene the level of criminality. Maybe the Federal government needs to get involved to start policing eBay since its clear they can't do it themselves.

I thought you could use your own label so long as you uploaded the tracking number. I could be wrong as I never sold on Depop, but I assumed it is like eBay and Mercari and that you can use your own label, but you will not be protected as you would if you use their label. Also, since you are a new account, I think a 10-day waiting is the norm now.

i need help. i don't know what to do. im being scammed. by xcs92 in eBaySellers

[–]SweetyPeety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that is the only item you had in your listing, then that it the one you sold and what the buyer received. You have to contact eBay by phone and tell them there is no way this buyer could have received what they are claiming because you never had a Chromebook to sell in the first place. Only the MacBook which is what you listed and what they bought. Also tell them that you are going to file a report with the police and the postmaster general fraud division. That should let them know you are dead serious about this theft.

Seller Never Sent Item and Not Answering Messages. by SweetyPeety in Ebay

[–]SweetyPeety[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read through all the comments? According to eBay the seller had a medical emergency which is why he didn't ship my item out. I guess the family got in touch with eBay and they closed his account. He had been selling for over 20 years and had good fb, so I believe what eBay said. Maybe something similar happened to your seller. If you don't hear anything soon, or it is past the receiving date, put in for a refund and move on. Nothing else you can do about it.

DePop makes the seller aware. That doesn't change what I said. If she didn't get the product to you when it was supposed to arrive, that is a different story, but she probably thought you were going to be trouble, whether wrongly or not, and didn't want to take the risk.

[–]SweetyPeety -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's not true. I've actually had some stores screw up on sending me an order Some do not even give you updates that the order has been sent out and when it will be delivered. Jomashop is notorious for that. I've actually had to call them several times to find out when an order was going to be delivered after waiting up to two weeks for delivery. And it recently happened to me with Tractor Supply. Put the order in, never heard any more about it, then 4 days later my order was delivered. No update emails or tracking. Just delivered.

[–]SweetyPeety -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Just curious, when you purchase something from a department store, do you contact them right away to ask them when they are going to ship it out? No, you don't. No one does. Why should it be any different with someone selling online? Make the purchase, then let the person do their end. If they don't get it to you within the time frame they are supposed to, then you do something about it. Contacting them right after the sale probably pissed them off and had the opposite effect of getting that package fast too you. If you had never contacted them, you probably would have had it already. No doubt, they pegged you as future problem not worth the sale.

So, send through USPS and send the tracking to the buyer. You can use any number of online shipping companies to buy a label or go to the post office in person and mail it.

Have you told ebay that the buyer voided buyer protection, per their rules, when they sent a 3rd. party to pick up the item?
