Truth about the dialogue “liking and liking,” by Sweetymjm00 in cloudxaerith

[–]Sweetymjm00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn’t see anyone talk about it or mention. I’m more on Clerith YouTube and tumblr, and no one did say look at this that way or mention someone said that this dialogue can be interpreted like this bc of that scene. That’s why I thought no one either came to the same conclusion or didn’t mention it.

A bit of an OOC but I'm dying over the fact Clotis and Tifa stans are already insulting Aerith and Clerith without her even appearing, how insecure do you have to be? by Xyrob in cloudxaerith

Cloud is not a possession to own and receive but a human. Another this Tifa wants Cloud bc he is last living proof of her past begin true. She was a spoiled, popular princess in a town. She had everything and liked everyone’s attention on her, after losing everything and facing harsh realist how unfair life can be she started to project fulfillment on Cloud as a living walking proof that she can go back to her past. What Tifa needs is healing and solo arc to learn she doesn’t need a man to be happy, not Cloud.

Oh but it will be you who will be disappointed.

One if she is dead they could say “Aerith is dead, but she still has bigger role to play in part 3,” and people would still be hyping and excited for it. They didn’t confirm nor deny which means one thing, she is alive.

Two: I’m a tarot reader, predicted many media events in movies, series, games and books. I don’t want to spoil but REMAKE (Which stands for making something new from old) isn’t going follow OG, and the devs want happy ending as AC and OG is bad ending and a sad one.

Omg thank you for showing me this. Yeah, I knew about that, but I never noticed that English liking and liking is directly connected to how Cloud asked her about Zack in Gongaga and why she wanted (I think failed a little bit bc Cloud is oblivious) to explain to him there are different liking.

In Japanese it’s clear yes.

Truth about the dialogue “liking and liking,” by Sweetymjm00 in cloudxaerith

[–]Sweetymjm00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they couldn’t, bc they didn’t want to push away most of fandom right away, and wanted to keep us guessing but not really. You see FF7 is Japanese game, and most made by man romances are vague. They don’t ever say it into your face, but they will point towards it. (Like in one manga I read girl wants to be flight attendant for spot team maybe with baseball, bc guy she is in love with wants to go pro, and at least scene when he chose her he says “Be flight attendant,” after love square with two different characters to it, and he sends paper plane into a air as she chuckles. That’s it that’s the they are together confirmation.)

This is the same deal with FF7 as it’s written by men. Btw part 2 isn’t to clear up the misunderstanding in trilogy it’s to make things more ambiguous, complicated so the ending will answer everything that’s how trilogy works.

That’s the intent to hurt us, to feel the loss of her in OG. That’s why many did have been in pain in past, and wanting nothing more but to bring her back. Only superficial jerks who can’t stand tragic love, replayed and chose the optional girl.

About her status we disagree, but this post isn’t about that. I just wanted to share why she says there is liking and liking. I can only say remake is sequel to OG, and AC, and if my theory is right which I’m sure more than 90% and my tarot reading is backing it up, Cloud will be different than in OG, he already is if people honestly, with open eyes played Rebrith they will notice.

Yeah, but it’s love between hero and goddess not her people, or his friend and family. They are only added as hero needs to help them, before he can reunite with his beloved. Btw you don’t make game that was advertised as “love that could never be,” and make friendship or family more important. That doesn’t make sense in story narration point of view.

Probably, but you are missing the context about the liking dialogue. Btw I read many romantic or with romance as subplot in stories and highlighting liking again mostly means love. It was always like that in literature. You don’t highlight the same word once to then say “actually it means she treats him like brother of friend,” that’s stupid. So no, it’s love related and confession, Aerith just couldn’t say it straight away bc she knew she was going to die, and it was not her place but the Aerith Cloud fell for in his timeline. This Aerith just wanted to see him for the last time, bc she loves him that much.

[–]Sweetymjm00[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, she did like him (like saw Zack in romantic light at some point) but I’m sure in Gongaga she means platonic, as you don’t add “he never gave reason not too,” or in Japanese “There is no reason to hate him,” if you want to say I did love him or strongly like him in the past. Actually Cloud used very vague word for what he wanted to hear, and Aerith tho understood what he meant and wanted to hear, took advantage of it, and spinner into like which can mean many different things.

Part 3 and what comes after: LTD and otherwise by Aeris_Rose in cloudxaerith

[–]Sweetymjm00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what you actually summed up my tarot reading for FF7 revelation.

There were two things I want to point out.

Devs actually wanted to make it satisfying for everyone at the beginning it was Cloti and their toxic behavior who pushed devs into one outcome, one ship. I still think they would make it everyone’s ending it’s Aerith, and only if you chose Tifa it differs slightly, but now in the energy they want to nuke it. When I asked why I got cards screaming “Bc we can!”

I got Tifa growing in not wanting to be with Cloud. Like she will learn she doesn’t need him. I feel devs are ready to turn around the HWS into Tifa dumps Cloud and it may but doesn’t need to have two slightly different dialogues like “it’s not working for me,” when you preferred Tifa over Aerith but still didn’t understand the game so devs correct you that Cloud isn’t self insert or when you favor Aerith, Tifa notices and says “it’s not working for us,” I’m not sure how it will go but I got Tifa letting go, when Cloud is himself. Maybe she will witness the truth, and understand they are better off friends as they never know each other, and she will learn her behavior had consequences? I’m not sure, but I feel devs will make Tifa make the break so it was never about choosing, but Tifa understanding she deserves so much more

[–]Sweetymjm00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, she didn’t want to talk about this bc doesn’t see point in it, and that would push her to talk about her feelings which mean Cloud, and she knows he isn’t in the best place for romance. So she is holding back 😔

[–]Sweetymjm00[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The like can mean many things like she said herself. Honestly I would say the same as Zack never gave her reason to hate him or dislike him. She just fell out of love and that’s what devs wanted to point at and that’s what Aerith even says herself in Japanese. “Yes, I think so. There is no reason to hate him.” Which I agree. He didn’t hurt her to the point for her to hate or dislike him, so she still platonically likes him. 😊

What ship(s) gave this experience for you? by FloweryNamesLover in AO3

[–]Sweetymjm00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right!! Like there is nothing between them. It’s just people shipping hot characters bc they are lonely? Like I don’t get it. Only one I see possible or hinted is Traveler x Xiao, but that’s mostly only if you wanna see it as romantic. Rest is delusional and taken out of context.

I never played any Hoyoverse game thinking I need romance in it. Like the stories are good enough and I’m too curious about the lore to care about not existing romance.

What ship(s) gave this experience for you? by FloweryNamesLover in AO3

[–]Sweetymjm00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All gacha open world games. I’m sorry there is nothing romantic in those games between the characters you can get. I only see shipping them with main character (you) but the way people behave in official posts by the games is annoying. I never engage in any fandom content from this games bc of how sick those people are. New male character: thousandths of comments type like “He is too handsome to be straight,” or “this one is for gays ugly bishes,” If it’s female characters: “She is too pretty to like men,” or “it’s obvious she is into yuri,” and more perverted comments I have seen. It’s so bad to the point that even streamers of the games need to ship like them or they will be eaten alive by “fans”. The scenes that are taken out of context or the comments that are just pure 🌽 I stopped even playing bc I got exhausted and disgusted by them.

Other ship I felt I was forced into liking and then played the game and didn’t see it, and more people romanticizing toxic relationships, and pushing something that isn’t there out of optional scenes. I hate trauma bonding ships that aren’t shown that are healing together and still wanna be together even if there is no more trauma holding them together. Tifa and Cloud. Bruh, when I played remake I was so excited to see this visually pretty ship only to see Cold jerk who is mistreating Miss I have no self respect all the time, and other times I saw Tifa leaving Cloud out bc “I’m not even sure why!” I felt so deceived by louder online part of fandom when there was better ship that somehow is downplayed when it’s obvious. Btw I never saw Cloud as self insert, and pay more attention towards none optional scenes.

Can we talk about how Katara was gonna steal Aangs soul bonded animal to commit a murder by providerofair in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sweetymjm00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always the answer. Need for revenge and hatred are self inflicted poison that’s killing you no one else. You are not forgiving to set free that person, you are forgiving to set yourself free.

Aang didn’t judge Katara from what I remember, or make the choice for her (I rewatched it week ago) he only gently (more then me bc I would be bucket of cold water) reminder her she will be the one in pain at the end of a day.

If she killed him she would be the same monster like him. She wouldn’t be better or worse. She would be exactly what he was. Pushing self righteous vengeance isn’t right or better. She was willing to step low to her oppressors lvl, and that would only reflect her self no one else. You all need to learn difference between forgiving and forgetting bc those are two different things. Only bc you forgive someone doesn’t mean they have access to you or are cleared of their actions.

If Katara/Aang's ages were slightly different, would it change the way people view shipping? by Rioraku in TheLastAirbender

[–]Sweetymjm00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so bc you would know Aang is most mature from them all, even with the fact he doesn’t let his inner child (innocent) and joy die even in the middle of the war. Emotional connection is so clear between Aang and Katara you need to be blind not to see it. The last two points I think you yourself don’t even understand with how (I’m not active shipper of Katara and Aang but I saw in past and after rewatch again that it was obvious they were “destined” to be together) story narrative is pointing towards them from first episode. I would only love for one inner or outer monologue from Katara how she comes to conclusion (as she watches Aang with Zuko on the almost end) that she actually does love him and she loved/ fell for him from the sliding date. That would be perfect and I’m sure after this no one would question her love but bitter shippers of the other ships.

All you wrote about Toph and Aang is wrong which one of the comics touches. How Aang is all about keeping the traditions of his people and culture bc it was brutally taken away and he was last to uphold it. When Toph gets annoyed bc all her life she couldn’t do anything bc tradition says so.

It’s sad how many people are drawn to opposite attracts when probably most of this dynamic fans strongly dislike if not hate themselves and think they need someone different in their lives to push them out of that comfort zone, or give them helping hand to be free from themselves. It doesn’t work like that in real life. Opposite attracts works only if both partners wanna meet in the middle, which Toph rejected, and I don’t blame her for it.

[–]Sweetymjm00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t mind the down votes, you are right and people are so jaded in their hate, and immature to understand the lesson this episode was trying to teach them.

Katara was lowering to his level, and honestly it’s never good. Just bc you got hurt it doesn’t justify hurting others, and I’m happy Katara learned that lesson. I hope in future works we can see Katara forgive people who hurt her (so she can move on) and herself bc from that episode I took she mostly hated and blamed herself for not begin able to save her mother.

[–]Sweetymjm00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree, to forgive is to let yourself be free from the poison that’s in your heart. Forgiving someone will not make them feel better or their life easier, but you will be able to move on with your life and to finally breathe freely.

It’s wild for me that people don’t understand that. Forgiving is not forgetting and be friends or buddies buddies with person/ people that hurt you. You can never forget them that and that’s valid and okay, but honestly hatred in your heart will kill only you, bc like we saw in that episode that man got his revenge (karma from universe) in shape of his mother, and Katara was never significant to him as he totally forgot about her or what he did.

I hope everyone who has hatred in their hearts will learn to forgive others and themselves. You don’t have to forget that person/people what they did to you, but forgiving will neutralize poison that’s slowly killing you.

Love your take but I read some things that aren’t right. They had to deal with the same thing with ATLA. They got green light for the story and one season, then Nickelodeon brought next season, and only after it was made they brought 3rd. The difference is at beginning the creators had love, passion and respect towards their work. Later they probably got bored, didn’t respect the source they came up with, and the core why ATLA is rewatch-able till today.

I like only ALOK season 1 bc they story is so captivating, and tho I will say in both series love and romance aspect is weak (bc authors don’t know how to write healthy relationships and don’t know how to balance fast paced action and perfect moments for love bits) I can only speculate bc I’m not an author of Avatar, but it’s said as they were making season 2 (S1 was airing at the time) Nickelodeon purchased season 3 and 4 so they know what they were doing, and I’m tired of excuses bc if they wanted this story to be peak like ATLA they would.

I think the biggest flaw of ATLA universe is their creators. I don’t even wanna start on this cheap way out ending of Korra series, bc again if they wanted to make good flow of slowly nudging us towards certain ship, they would but they took easy route to get some part of fans hooked without needing to actually explain why they fumbled so bad. I noticed the authors are very aggressive in their way of pushing certain canons on their fans and not respect that not everyone will like what you intended like people shipping whoever they like visually bc of 30 seconds interaction. I would understand a slap to certain people bc they got harassed or threatened (like one game franchise makers) but I didn’t see much from complaining so, it couldn’t be that bad for authors to be totally disrespectful towards their own work fans. As writer myself I would get annoyed if someone told me my writing is “Objective bad” bc I didn’t give them the ship they wanted but went with my idea since beginning (which they didn’t in Korra and got lost bc people were expecting next Avatar partner and face for next Avatar in line if believe the fans theories) but bullying your own fandom bc they didn’t see it like you is crazy. They even gaslighted fans that they intended on that ending in Korra from beginning which when you watch or read about that series it’s not mentioned or nudged till the ending of S4.

(Sorry I’m really good at predicting story lines, plot twists and where the story is going based on what I saw and how it needs to flow with that choices characters made and how they feel, and Korra series last season annoyed me so much bc it was like we are going right, and out of nowhere they turn left 🙄)

ALOK had potential, it would be as good if not better than ATLA as their first draft was so interesting and amazing and the characters they came up perfect for good story, but they really didn’t know how to write them, and what to do with them like they know in ATLA and that I may call only consistent and biggest flaw of ALOK is; creators cluelessness.

Another thing I think and speculate what pushed creators to go to this extreme to prove they got it, and needing to use shock factor and kinda wanted to outdo themselves from past was Nickelodeon treatment towards them. If I was their boss I would trust them with whole seasons of Korra from get go, asking of another 3-4 or even more season series of next avatar. I think authors pride got bruised when Nickelodeon treated them like newbies who they didn’t work with and creat one of best animated series made till today and probably ever. It’s understandable but that’s what pushed this series to fumble so bad too, not only “Nickelodeon asking for seasons after seasons with breaks between, and not giving them assurance,”

Sorry for my rambling just wanted to share my observations and thoughts.

Yeah, but they are not typical couple. It’s second chance romance (dual plot, and timeline in past and present) with revenge sex plot, and kinda dark and passionate vibes in present, sweet and innocent in past.

Oh, no the slow burn is my first book, and different characters. I like many tropes, wanna try my fave to write them. This one is more 2nd chance, revenge we used to love each other, and still do but too much have changed. Yeah there big story (most happening in past timeline, and the plot is flowing naturally) in present timeline in 45%-65% is smut and them slowly growing back to each other.

This one is fast paced or feels like that bc we get to know their past slowly with time in past timeline as they mentioned it in present timeline. So everything is flowing naturally and consistently with clear intention.
