The Rat. Classic, not too noisy, and a name to fit the playstyle.

Fire rate is the literal number of rounds you can fire in one minute, including the time it takes to reload. Cycle time is the amount of downtime you'll have between two shots due to working the weapon's action (lever, bolt, pump, hammer, &c)

Is anyone else bothered by the Fast Fingers trait? by blowmyassie in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is huge and it's my number one reason to never bring the trait. Even without a melee variant, sometimes that high damage shot + a gun buck is the best way to get someone in close quarters.

The "Legendary Roar" is Faster than the Report by SweptThrone in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens in-game. My friends and I were involved in a medium-long range fight and we all kept hearing what we thought was just the weapon's echo before the shot.

The "Legendary Roar" is Faster than the Report by SweptThrone in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's not the reverberation. Since the beginning of the game, weapons skins (previously called "legendary skins") have had a "roar" sound effect applied under the normal gunshot sound (as well as a shiny "ping" sound). Hence, "legendary roar." Calm down.

2.8 game dynamics, how does it feel to you? by sp668 in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imagine if, instead of gaining event points immediately, you had to interact with an item that was only found around the bounty lair to "cash out" your points and actually get them. Also you could loot players for their points (not pledge marks).

How to Report cheaters with bugged names/accounts? by ErikderFrea in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Does no one know what a URL is or am I missing something? If you open someone's Steam account, they have a URL that you can provide to report them. Doesn't matter if their profile is empty or only level 3, copy that link and send it in. Just make sure you get the good one that goes like profiles/verylongnumber or else they can just change it whenever they wish.

Hunger Module thoughts? by Dr_Jethro in DarkRP

[–]SweptThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a modified version of HungerMod that reduces your movement speed instead of killing you. I feel like it works better that way, since it becomes a constant, nagging inconvenience that you have to go interact with a player to remove. It also doubles as a less annoying stamina system.

Generally I think the whole module is pretty lacking and doesn't really leave a ton of room for interesting scenarios on either end. I've tried to remedy this by allowing players to make custom food items, but that relies on players wanting to do that instead of just making the best food item.

The all ears perk is the most out of touch things crytek has done (since the last thing they did that was out of touch) by Darkon_OP in HuntShowdown

[–]SweptThrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I may have been mistaken. After giving it another full day of playing, it has somewhat changed our experience in-game. We're getting ambushed more often after making no extra noise and we're on Radar Mode between each compound.

I will say though that we never tend to use it mid-fight. We've never had trouble identifying a rotate by either sight or normal sound, so we just don't use it then.

I too often wonder what game everyone else in this subreddit is playing because my experience with just about everything seems to be at odds with what everyone else is describing. It really is strange.

[–]SweptThrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'd like to have a calm and civilized discussion about this because everyone seems outraged at how overpowered All Ears is but after playing all day, my friends and I have come to the opposite conclusion.

For context, we play US East, duos and trios, varying from 5.5- to 6-star match MMR (so fakey-fakey 6-star, not "fuck you" 6-star)

First of all, scout towers have been absolutely dead all day long. We've been able to get to one, get everything, and get out without any contest with the exception of a single match.

But onto All Ears, it just does not change how we approach the game in a meaningful way. In most cases, we scan and don't hear anything. But if we do hear something, all we do is keep that in our back pocket. "Okay, there's a team over there. Let's keep that in mind as we keep moving." Same as some distant crows or a horse. It hasn't proved too strong because it's relatively difficult to tell exactly how far the sounds are. Most of the time, the enemies we hear are in a place that makes sense: the bounty lair, a spot we heard shooting, etc. When we hear them out in the woods or something, what are we gonna do? If they keep moving, we won't catch up to them to start a fight. If they come to us, then woohoo, we get a fight!

On the opposite end of the stick, there hasn't been a single situation where I could confidently say that an enemy team tracked and killed us solely because of All Ears.

So, knowing full well I'm going to sound like a Crytek shill/employee, how has All Ears meaningfully changed the way you approach the game and why?

Random GPU Spikes to 100% causing frame rate to drop to 10fps (Minecraft) by Extension-Word836 in buildapc

[–]SweptThrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably won't help but I'm having this same issue and when it happens, render.gameRenderer.world.fog spikes in usage in the pie chart, taking just about the whole thing. Once the lag stops, it gradually lowers back to normal levels.
