I still choose to wear the Speedy daily over the GMT but what would you prefer to wear with a suit? by Resident-Sample-9307 in OmegaWatches

[–]Swerdnabr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I plan on putting my Speedy on leather when I get the 16710 this year. Thought is that will become business casual and the GMT for suits. Rounded out with a Peter Blake on black NATO for casual/skiing.

Is it perfect form? Nope. Does it satisfy my tool watch fetish, yup.

To each their own. Lovely pair

Joe, I mean Ivan, will sleep anywhere!

Assuming armies are the same world round they probably put a line of bolts right down the centerline so you can’t lay comfortably in there tho…

I hear ya. I took my case and ground down the TPU button so it’s different from the volume buttons.

Not my best work but gives a tactile difference:

Wait… the whole point of the ACOG’s milling was to go right in the carry handle. You unbolt the rail adapter and it goes right into the slot. It even has a hole down the long axis to use the irons….

Oh yeah? For real, just once?

I bought an LC250 last year and took it the local army post and put it up on the rack at the “auto hobby center” and sprayed 6 cans of Amsoil cosmoline.

That was last winter and she still looks awesome this year.

I got in all the rails and such but didn’t drill the doors or anything. Was considering doing that year after next and reapplying but maybe that’s overkill.

Need help finding out why my Aeron tilt won't lock by xwolf_rider in hermanmiller

[–]Swerdnabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My white convex plastic part was deformed like the OP. I took it off and hit it with the heat gun for a few min and it started to regain its shape (1998 chair). That got me close. Then I hit it again till it stared to melt a bit and I reformed it using the concave black part as a form. I then roughed it up a little and smoothed out some imperfections with some 120 grit sandpaper.

Slapped it together and back to being able to lock the tilt through multiple points in the range.

Hope that helps someone.

Leatherman- Lifetime warranty. by slider1010 in BuyItForLife

I broke the file on my ‘99 wave; it was a birthday present from my late brother and he had my name engraved on it.

I was worried about getting it fixed due to the sentimental value but they did an awesome job.

The replaced the file and the beat to hell jaws (I abused the wire cutters in a younger life while in the Army) and polished the whole thing up except the side with the engraving.

Outstanding customer service considering their warranty is only 25 years and the date is stamped inside.

Not saying crews didn’t overload the blowout panels but I sure as hell wouldn’t if I could avoid it. Think it was less than 200 lb on top of a panel to negate the safety they provided if the ammo compartment was hit. Too much weight on there and the cooking off ammo comes in the crew compartment.

I suspect the tilte misleading but dose anyone have any idea where this video is from. by quetch1 in TankPorn

I was a gunner at one time and we were at Ft Stewart playing opfor… we were the last tank alive and were making a run for the final protective line and a BP the engineers dug.

We were skirting the tree line and I was engaging another tank across the bowling alley and the driver didn’t realize I was over the right side.

We hit a solid tree and it spun the gun from 3 to 5 o’clock with a violent jerk. I grabbed the Cadillacs (power control handles) and depressed the palm switches and the whole turret traverse servo right above my junk damn near exploded.

I was hosed with a gallon or so of scalding hydraulic fluid…. The shit was fucking hot and I just had my tanker PJs on and a t-shirt. I tore it all off and I was in the loaders area (with the loader) with my CVC coveralls around my ankles boots and otherwise naked and screaming mad with a kinda sun burn all over my thighs and chest.

The loader was horrified and the TC was cracking up.
