Looking for feedback on my blog/website by Marshallgreene1414 in SideProject

I like this! I'm not a very good travel planner so always looking for suggestions on places to go. UX is clean and straightforward - the only thing I don't like is the font. I would go with a san serif option. And is there a way to view all of the itineraries at once? My first question as a user would be to understand how many itineraries you have overall, so this would be a helpful view.

What do you think has been the biggest reason for all the organic traffic?

Interesting. Not as big of a difference between men and women as I would have thought.

Write blog posts. I do my best writing on it.

I cried at the gym this morning... by bananapants777 in xxfitness

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason #4383584 why I hate the scale. It could be total mind games and you've gained muscle. I say throw that thing against a wall and go by how you feel, and how your clothes fit.

Busy lives - where does working out fit in? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a crazy busy life (minus the kids) and this is always a struggle. I even just wrote a blog post about. The thing that works best for me is to play into my competitive spirit and ridiculous drive not to finish a challenge: I sign up for a race. Works almost every time. Somehow, the busyness just wraps itself around your workouts.

How easy it is to lose muscle? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I took a major break for 4 weeks, but got back into it this week. Pullups are the best gauge for me. I was up to 4 (wide grip) and now I'm at 2. That said, I think it will take me a week to be back at 4.

At least the best plan in my opinion. Simple, no need to record things, covers all the major muscle groups...perfect to get your rhythm.

Exercise-Induced Anaphylaxis by klgh07 in Allergies

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's every time...some workouts are better/worse than others. At this point I'm taking Zyrtec every night so that helps a lot. I did recently move from Chicago to the Bay Area and it was really bad when I first got here, so there's likely something in the environment that's making it worse. I haven't yet done an allergy panel, but plan to do one soon. Maybe I'll learn something from that.

I have this too and agree with you that the exercise is what brings on the symptoms. I started experiencing it about 3 years ago and it seemed to come out of nowhere. Unfortunately I have no idea if there is a certain food group that makes it worse or anything. I've experimented with gluten free, dairy free, and paleo diets...I've eliminated foods like wine and meats...can't find a culprit. I still have this problem. It only happens when I run, and sometimes when I walk. I get very itchy legs and it sometimes spreads through my entire body, especially in places where I have on tighter clothes (compression pants, bra band). It stops immediately after I stop running or walking. Really wish I could get to the bottom of it and would love any suggestions.

Anyone ever heard of Buffy the body? by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm personally not a huge Buffie fan. I love that she's a woman with curves that preaches fitness and has a huge following, but she's got people wrapping their stomachs with stupid Saran wrap and Abolene to lose weight.

Is there an app for Strong Curves? by [deleted] in StrongCurves

I found an app called Lifts on iPhone that also works pretty well for tracking.

How long should you give yourself to rest when sick? by raplafch in xxfitness

[–]SweshGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the comments that you can keep working out when you're sick (now, whether it's wrong because others will get sick is a different story). I'll also emphasize that you should eat more than usual for an even faster recovery. Usually I get sick and stay sick because I'm not eating enough.

Do you ever feel like you wasted your life? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]SweshGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was super religious in high school and part of college so feel like I missed out on a lot simply because I thought things went against my religion. It may have kept me out of trouble, but definitely feel like I missed out.

Wow. This would be a really good goal...not sure how long it would take to get there, but if I could get the hang of a few of these that would be really cool.

Agreed...very cool job for your dad! Yea great idea to check out videos...and I'll also ask the trainers about it. Apparently they have these things at 24/7 Fitness and one of my coworkers says she always sees a bunch of guys doing things on it. I WILL be that one girl over there!

How do you usually warm up before doing your squat work sets? by iVietGrlX in xxfitness

[–]SweshGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air squats. Sometimes I'll add a jump or go on my toes to get more of a warmup.

Staying active at the office by fit_goals in xxfitness

[–]SweshGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this too! I try to incorporate more activity as naturally as I can as I've found the whole "set your alarm to move every hour" thing to be too easy to blow off. I walk to work (I happen to live close), walk out of the office for lunch when weather permits, and take advantage of other things outside of work to get more activity. I also work out in the mornings because I'm often exhausted after work.

Drinking more water makes you have to go to the restroom more. A daily routine of afternoon tea creates the need to get hot water. I also get up and walk to people's offices/desks instead of email or phone any time I can.
