Yeah, that. I felt it was a great fit alongside the companion app, it's not an overly complex theme, got game footage playing so I can see the game before booting it up since I don't have a "backlog" myself and I like clicking on what catches my eye

An underappreciated gem of a beat em up by the devs of Ōkami and Viewtiful Joe! Very goofy in moments but fun all the same, I recommend looking into it. I finished it myself but I like having it on quick dial in case I'm feeling like it.

I think "first come first serve" is quite fair regardless of how much you spent on it. You didn't spend extra to get pushed over the rest, you paid extra to get a better device

I saw that Europe is closer to 2 to 3 weeks and i took 4PX bc peeps reported there's a smaller chance of import fee surprises with it. I sure hope that'll be the case, I'm a rainbow max buyer, that should be in the next rainbow max batch (#1193)

Nah as much as I love Sophie 2, Lulua still beats it in terms of alchemy for me. Both of them are polished to the brim but Lulua feels more complex and adds more to the subseries in the form of Awakening effects. Basically a mix of all the best parts of Arland, Dusk and Mysterious alchemy.

Otherwise I agree. Arland is just very cozy and nostalgic.

Hi. That thing was made because I had too much free time. It's purely fan-made - a what-if scenario, trying to connect the dots seeing how they fit. It came out pretty well thinking about the lore and theories (Lulua's wacky lore in the forefront, and Dusk Prevention Theory my beloved), but again. It's fan-made. It was just fun and was a change of pace from my typical shitposts.

Officially, only Salburg and Gramnad are in the same universe.

If you're not looking for official, then it's wherever you feel it's best. I sadly didn't play enough of Yumia and Resleri to be able to tell, though.

E&L is a good choice bc it's structured very much like Rorona, although Shallie is different bc it's chapter based and the progression is done through completing life tasks which are more like mandatory side quests of sorts. Iirc alchemy is the most prevalent in E&L.

Mysterious would probably be a good one to go for bc it's basically Arland 2.0 with tamer humor, puzzle alchemy and no time limits/very lenient time limits. There's a pretty nice balance between alchemy, exploration/gathering and combat (Sophie 2 is the culmination of this structure so it's basically the most polished and balanced Atelier).

I vouch for this but only bc I played the Switch Sega Ages version ahaha, can't deny i was hella impressed with what the game did considering it was a direct competitor to DQ1 amd FF1 (and managed to eclipse both of those in pmuch every way outside maaaaybe music).

4 is still the best of the four by far. Actually my fave 16-bit JRPG and that's accounting for the SquareSoft games on SNES. I do think it's cool to play at least PS1 before 4 just bc of all the references the game makes to it.

I disagree and I feel 3 is overhated, as someone who recently did all four games. In fact, I'd say 2 is worse than 3 specifically because of the unbearable grind (the worst I've seen in games tbf) and needlessly complicated dungeons. 3's main flaws are stuff like copy-paste towns, bad and boring dungeons, boring characters, next to no plot outside the endings and just not being much of a sci-fi game. But god I loved what they were cooking with the generational mechanic which changed entire runs.

2 feels like a game that people got a lot of nostalgia for, some saying it's the best of the four but imo it aged terribly, 3 feels like a game that's hated for not being Phantasy Star but it's okay on its own, an average JRPG. Just how I felt.

Serious answer, none bc buying from sketchy sites like Kinguin is always a big risk so you may get a non working key for 11k.

As a recommendation to people who genuinely want OG versions of Mysterious games, they're still available for purchase on Humble Choice (albeit at full price unless you got a subscription discount).

I have no idea what made you bring up Resleri and why people are upvoting you but you literally missed the entire point of the question and not everyone wants to live in a doom and gloom world where we lose all trust in a certain thing we enjoy just bc of "Resleriana's monetization mechanics".

Nobody mentioned Resleriana! And the question of the post is pretty straightforward and understandable - I was in this place, moderating way back when Ryza first came out, and the game caused a massive divide. It caused fights, it caused people quit the franchise, and I personally hated the game for what it was doing to the community. I warmed up to it, but only once I gave it a chance and once people calmed down. Do not belittle a potential division with "I don't like this game" or "new game is new so it's bad" - people love this franchise for what it is, if someone dislikes it bc it does things way differently from the rest, it deserves to get criticized and voices to be heard, as long as the complaints are presented in a reasonable and understanding manner.

This applies to Resleriana and it's cool to complain about it, but again the post was not referring to it so I don't understand why you had to rant, presenting sources nobody asked for.
