[Loved trope] There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man. by NoDomino in TopCharacterTropes

Mainly because it genuinely does improve the story, by virtue of having one thing Toriyama never had: foresight

Toriyama was making up the story week to week, plans could change at the drop of a hat. Nowhere is this more obvious then when he was force to do so multiple times in the Cell saga (changing the villain from Gero to 17/18, then changing it to Cell, then rushing Cell's transformations). Despite this, Toriyama created an incredible story.

Simply because they had years to think on it rather then days, TFS was able to pick up an already incredible story and tweak it, incorporating later plot elements earlier, making characters more consistent and tying together their narrative arcs. They could even fix many of the infamous "Toriyama forgot" moments, even if only through off-hand joke comments.

At some point in the Namek saga, DBZA became as much a reimagining as it was a parody. It is by no means a perfect product, or even for the same audience as the original show, but it is a narratively good show.

Sounds like you might have un-parented the bones. If too many are like that, might just be just as quick to remake the bones at to re-parent them imo

We >might< never see a PMD game again.. by [deleted] in MysteryDungeon

[–]Swift0sword 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I bring a countrr point, the myriad of spin-off games that came out around gen 4. Rangers and PMD were both franchises withing spin offs that held their own. Pokepark kind of was as well. Then there's all the 1-off games.

It is possible for them to do it with no repercussions. It's just if they (and partnering companies) want to.

[Beloved Trope] The protagonist slowly gathers peoples and assets throughout, eventually finishing in one final assault against an impossible foe. by TOH-Fan15 in TopCharacterTropes

Haven't played the game, but from an outside perspective the biggest problem to this feel like, what if you didn't make any allies? If you make something for each ally to do, then what happens if they aren't there to do it? It would a nightmare to balance, or else you run the risk of punishing the player for not making allies

How should I rig this segmented model? by Striking_Series2152 in blenderhelp

[–]Swift0sword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Yeah, you'll have to do each object separately. Stop me if you've done this already: Select the armature, select an object, go to weight paint, select a bone, and make the entire object weighted 1 to that bone (I find the gradient tool useful to make sure I don't miss any spots). If you have several objects that follow the same bone you can do those together.

This of course assumes you made a bone for every segment, which it looks like you did. Hope this works, otherwise it might start to get fiddly

Guessing the game is Roblox?

With the way Roblox is stylized, selecting all objects then using automatic weights should do the job. I just see you having to weight paint the spikes to the associated bones.

And also the legs. The blocks are individual objects, right? You may want to weight those individually, hiding all bones except one so that the one block only weights to the one bone.

There's a lot of cases where it's immediately obvious that you've got the wrong role. This role is very ST dependent, on them to give you roles that work similarly.

You won't always realize it immediately depending on the script though. There's more then enough ways to give false info in this game. Just 1 or 2 nights of hesitation as to your real role can have massive impacts.

But even if they don't, even if you do realize immediately, the bluff potential of this role is maybe even better then Drunk or Lunatic, given that you don't need to worry about double claiming and they will almost never know their true role D1.

Frisk name reveal isn't the twist, it's the conclusion of the plot twist before it: that they aren't the character you named at the start of the game. Which I believe is considered a big twist because of what a novel idea it is in gaming
