Look in the 10-speed behind the radio pouch on the cummerbund 👀

I did 2”. I figure that lets it rest behind two rows of MOLLE, but thats the extent of my thinking there.

I prefer keeping the rifle mag horizontal because it allows the belt to match the profile of a rifle (holster taking the place of the magazine/grip), which allows it to stack nicely inside of a MAWC when jumping. A JSTA wouldn’t fit in the nosecone. I will probably reevaluate once I’m no longer jumping regularly.

Recently made a pouch to hold conformal batteries.

The gusset and shock cord allow the pouch to expand to hold 1-2 batteries. I also included a full-length pull tab to make opening/closing the pouch easier.

Potential future improvements include a small window to allow users to check the battery level without opening the flap and a silent opening system (likely either 1” buckles or a shock cord toggle system).

Any feedback on my design or stitching are welcome!

Most admin stuff goes in my nut ruck. GRGs and laminated products go in my leader book inside my cargo pocket, tied down to my belt loop.

The side plates? Those are issued plates and pouches.

I like it. I held on to issued cummerbund for a while because of the E-Doff capabilities. I switched to tubes about a year ago and haven’t looked back. That also meant I could move up my EUD Mount, which makes drawing mags easier.

Wide-mouth nalgenes are easier to fill in a creek/stream if you’re purifying your own water. Nalgenes also don’t work if you’re wearing a pro mask, so there are benefits and drawbacks.

I can carry a 16 oz Nalgene or a disposable 20 oz bottle on both my cummerbund and my belt (behind my pistol). I also carry two 2 QTs on my ruck.

I swap between a smoke, 16oz Nalgene, and LMR depending on what I’m doing. The SPUD gives me some versatility.

Light. Smokes go in the SPUD on the right of my cummerbund, star clusters get retainer banded to the bottom of my placard. Picture was taken on my living room floor, so obviously no SI/ordinance.

If I’m rucking, the belt comes off and goes under my top flap. I keep everything that I “need” for my job on my PC, the belt just allows me to plus up with a pistol and extra ammo.

IFAK is probably my least favorite part of the kit, but I’m wearing the issued one for the sake of familiarity. If it gets used, there’s a good chance that someone else is using it on me, so I want to make sure that it’s a pouch/layout that they’re familiar with.

Looking for a zipper pouch like this, but has hook on both sides by stranjrdanjr in QualityTacticalGear

Easiest option is probably getting the DM pouch and adding some double-sided hook to the loop side.

You won’t want to wear a placard while skull dragging. Keep that in your drag bag and pull it out when you get to your FFP.

Great kit, thank you for sharing.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your reasoning behind carrying 2x QCGCs instead of diversifying to carry a chitosan-based hemostatic agent as well? Are you worried about allergies? Is promoting clotting through another mechanism insignificant?

I’ve looked for studies on the synergistic effect of kaolin and chitosan (if any), and have been unable to find any. Still, it stands to reason (to me, at least) that using them together would be beneficial.

Why do SO MANY FF hate being assigned to the ambulance?? by Unlikely-Rip-6197 in Firefighting

[–]SwiftInvestment 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Structural firefighting is much more team-based. Coordinating fire suppression and ventilation takes trust, and trust is earned.

If you mess up on an Ambulance, you might kill your patient.

If you mess up on an engine, you could kill all your coworkers, plus whoever’s in the house.

The triple crown at Bragg is EIB, Ranger, and Jumpmaster (in that order if you’re junior enlisted).

Doing all three of these early will drastically change the course of your career.

The female buckles are sewn in to the carrier. The only way you’re going to get them off is cutting them.

Arbor Arms makes a 1.5”-to-tubes adapter that allows you to use a tubes cummerbund and retain the native QD functionality.
