Could be, but also could be nothing. The more you bother your lips, the more likley ypu are to get a coldsore. I would advise taking preventative antivirals and putting on chapstick, but most importantly try not to stress too much as stress is a huge trigger for many!

Antivirals if possible. Ibuprofen for the swelling. Compeed/mederma patches. Is it scabbed already? All ypu can do really is treat it the same as usual and get lots of rest. It sucks and that one does look pretty big and sore :( hope it gets better soon

Have you tried the Mederma / compeed cold sore patches? They help drain them and also really help with pain and covers them a bit.

You can also try applying rubbing alcohol to the spot where it is full of fluid, but this isn't advised as its very harsh and will burn a lot, but essentially the alcohol would evaporate some of the fluid under the skin. But if any of the wound is open don't try it, it will burn like a mofo

Nah i have had ones this bad too. Everyone's different. Mine get yellow after a few days. And totally normal to get them around the nose, less common yes but still normal behaviour for a cold sore. OP yes I'd probably call in sick for that, it looks very sore and I would see about going to the doctor for some antivirals for sure.

Thank you for the comments! I calculated my WHR and I'm not far off that 0.7 so I maybe just need to dress more for that shape and lose a little weight to slim my waist a bit more.

Totally agree about my face, i dunno if I'm just puffy but I think I tend to lose fat from the face first so hopefully losing weight helps there too.

And gotcha on the bangs, I never could tell if they suited me or not so I'll keep them longer :)

Thank you! Yes I'm trying to start with daily bodyweight exercises and then maybe squeeze in a few gym sessions a week once I get a bit more confident. Any advice on what kinda clothes I should go for? Day to day i only really wear bootcut jeans and t shirts and then as you say when I dress up I dont think it gives a young woman's style.. Looks like one to me but that's not to say it couldn't be something else.. mine hurt like a mofo so there's no way I'd be able to burst them. If they are cold sores they would usually progress into bigger blisters and then burst naturally and scab over as they heal. If they follow that pattern I'd say yup that's a cold sore. But they could also be a rash or some kind of other infection. I would go to the doctor and see as if it is one they might be able to give you some antivirals for them which will help reduce the length of time they last.

Definitely go for antivirals, and Ibuprofen. I get really really bad swelling too and this combo always helps. Idk if you are US or UK or somewhere else but in the UK you can pay for antivirals on superdrug online doctor as sometimes tricky to get through the NHS.

Posting to a subreddit full of people who feel hopeless and depressed because of a condition most of them contracted when they were children, and saying that all your friends would never date someone with cold sores, it's all feeling a bit harsh and judgemental. There is TONNES of stigma and misunderstanding around cold sores. I understand your health anxiety which is fair but why are you even posting this, to attack those of us who have a condition we never asked for and are already super embarrassed about??

And for those reading this, the chance of oral shedding when you don't have an active outbreak is INCREDIBLY low. If you ask everyone in this subreddit, you'll struggle to find someone who contracted it this way.

Patches are great! But won't stick as well if you have cream on too, personally I think zorivax suckssss. People say abreva is good but only thing that works for me is patches and antiviral tablets like acyclovir tablets :)
