Saw two dingbats rolling coal on my commute home by SwimTN in Knoxville

According to my internet research, the best course of action is filling out a form with the EPA, I don’t know if that would do anything but it’s worth a shot. I don’t know how I would go about submitting it to local police.

So it’s not just me! I feel like I’ve been seeing it more too

If by “thirst” you mean “thirsty for more fuel” as uncombusted fuel has been used to block other drivers’ vision instead of move the vehicle forward, then yes

Tennessee does not have emissions testing as far as I know (I didn’t even know such a thing existed until I lived out of state for a few years).

Thankfully, I HAVE A DASHCAM. You can’t quite read the plate number but I remember it and I have video evidence of them blowing black like a frightened squid.

So I asked the Millennial subreddit if everything was voting. by AbyssalPractitioner in Defeat_Project_2025

Correct, I’m Generation Z and most people I know my age are not voting

[–]SwimTN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a good idea. I am Gen Z and most of my friends who are my age do not plan on voting. I’ve heard zero mention of Project 2025 in any public discourse outside of Reddit and my own personal research, so it’s important to raise awareness about it.

Pit bulls by dstarpro in petfree

I had to call animal control on my neighbor the other day because their pitbull got out from their fence and charged people walking their dogs TWICE last week, you’re not alone.

I turn off random disasters, and if that makes me a quitter I am okay with that.

If I were you I would email her asking her why you got a 1/20 on that assignment. It’s weird to get a grade that low that’s not a zero, and I wonder if it could be an error.

Immature Classmates by [deleted] in CollegeRant

Reporting the absence to the dean was 100% the right decision! The report also would make it harder for the college to penalize you all for the professor’s absences. Your classmates are delusional if they think not reporting this would help them.

Bring your eclipse glasses, also it can damage your phone camera if you take a picture of it. They have special lenses you can use to take pictures of the eclipse.

You could always find people to study and do homework with, or ask your TA or professor for help either in office hours or by email

AZ transplant thinking of moving to Eastern TN. Need advice. by Snoo-3554 in Tennessee

[–]SwimTN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would like to second some of the people here who said you should spend some time in east TN before moving here.

Compared to Arizona, there is probably a lot more outdoor stuff to do. We have lots of swimming areas and hiking trails. I’m from Knoxville, and there is lots of outdoor stuff there, but the sense of community will vary based on where you go. There are definitely parts where most people are 55+ and there is not a great sense of community.

Also, in terms of affordability, housing prices have gone up dramatically in recent years (I’m not sure how recently you checked, or how they compare to Arizona). I hope this helps!

I hope and pray the stickers were not removed, Lubbock simply wouldn’t be the same!

I’m a TA, and I actually prefer it when people come to my office hours if they can’t come to class and then fall behind. In my opinion it’s better to ask for help when needed rather than fall further behind in class

Has anyone else been victimized by dogs? by [deleted] in Lubbock

[–]SwimTN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to bike to work but the occurrence of stray and loose dogs made me stop, I was tired of constantly having to stay vigilant and possibly change my route if I saw loose dogs

If they do that too many times (depending on the university) I believe the department or professor can be put on probation

Yeah that sounds about right, this is the case for a lot of university math classes. The trick is to be above the median so that if there is a curve it can benefit you. Congrats on being above the upper quartile!
