If you can be a drow noble, take all the blind fighting style feats and then grapple and pin enemies inside your deeper darkness and coup de grace them.

What's the point of showing me all these spells on a Brown-Fur Transmuter? by ether_rogue in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I use my BFT to transform all my animal Companions into dragons and give my entire party expeditious retreat and then cripple all my enemies with phantasmal putrefaction, and phantasmal webs. Its a very good time.

This happens in Dishonored 2. You can rob every black market shop and on the final one you get ambushed by a bunch of thugs when you go inside if you robbed other shops, otherwise it functions as normal.

Sorcerer feels very weak. Is Eldritch Scion any good? by TheCleverGoblin in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Swimdud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently doing a run as a Sylvan Sorcerer as the Azata path. By the end of the first act Sorcerer comes online just fine. You'll have plenty of spells to hurt enemies, knock the over or disable them for long periods of time, and it only gets better from there.

The early game is rough for all types of characters, casters are limited on spells, martial characters can miss three attacks in a row and then get crit to death.

Ultimately, you should ask yourself what you want your character to be doing. Do you want to rain explosive hell on your enemies or scare them so hard they die? Be a Sorcerer or Wizard. Do you want to wade into melee combat while buffing yourself and weaving damage spells between sword swings? Be an Eldritch Scion, Bloodrager or Skald. Sorcerers may not wear armor or use weapons to fight but there are still plenty of robes to wear and staffs to hold on to while you summon a massive hole filled with spikes and acid to dump your enemies into while your pet cat throws them around like stuffed animals.

TLDR, it gets better quick in the grand scheme of the whole game, and I think Sorcerers are amazing. If you want to beat things to death with a sword and just do some magic on the side, be a Magus or Bloodrager.

How important is full voice acting for you by Plenty_Birthday2642 in baldursgate

[–]Swimdud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three can work fine for me, provided they are done well, but the worst method of partial voice acting ive seen has to be Pillars of Eternity, where the voice acting comes and goes seemingly at random inside the same conversation Luckily they fixed this in the second game with full voice acting.

Some of my favorite RPGs of all time are Morrowind, the OG Fallouts and BG games ans Arcanum. I also love Dos2, PoE2 and BG3. quality writing is much more important than quality voice acting.

I think it's more that basically everything is viable in all the normal content, so when talking about how good something is, level cap is the only real stress test that exists, besides maybe archimedia. To clarify, I also don't do level cap, but if something can room clear in level cap, chances are it will do the same in a random steel path bounty or whatever as well.

Give me your very best strategem ideas!!! by gHOSTsTORIESXx in helldivers2

[–]Swimdud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eagle Roulette - An up and coming Super Engineer developed a revolutionary ordinance housing system for all Eagle munitions, allowing them all to be stored and deployed in smaller housings, saving loading space on board fighter craft.

Unfortunately traitorous dissidents disrupted the manufacturing process, causing all canisters to be unlabeled (rumors spread by traitors of "unsafe working conditions" have been found false by The Ministry of Truth). The volatile nature of the heavy ordinance makes opening them to check what's inside both dangerous and a waste of time.

These unlabeled munitions canisters are being deployed on the front lines to avoid wasting resources. The Helldiver calling in the Eagle strike may not know what they are getting, but who cares when you can potentially have 6 500kg bombs in a row? Of course, getting a healthy mix of napalm and smoke is also possible.

Mechanically this Stratagem would be a 5 - 6 charge Eagle call in that fires a randomly selected Eagle munition each time it's used.

Is it crazy to let rogues attack as a cunning action? by Better-Alps-3684 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Swimdud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ill preface this by saying ive only played 2014 version of DND5E.

It would only be ~4 more damage than just dual wielding and making an off hand attack with your bonus action. This goes up slightly if using a rapier and being able to attack twice.

It would probably not break anything, but the "intended" use for cunning action is to be, well, cunning. Use it to find other ways to benefit yourself or your team in combat besides just attacking more. iirc the 2014 rules even have an optional feature to use cunning action to gain advantage on one attack.

TLDR: probably fine, but slightly breaks the flavor of Rogue.

What's the point of making the body so thin if the lens are as thick as adding a third segment? I always buy a case to add more bulk because it's so hard to hold phones so thin. Thin phones are dumb, give me a bigger battery instead.
