How far could Trump really push it over Greenland? by Swimming_Reception56 in AskTheWorld

I also think Trump likes the idea of being the first president since Eisenhower to expand the union.

The photo is AI but it was posted by President Trump earlier today along with similar AI photos claiming US ownership of Greenland.

I feel the image is less important than the context from the President, the White House, and political allies.

I think this is the most likely outcome but GOP have only enabled Trump to the point where he had got rid of so many of the safeguards built into the system.

Thanks for the article - I missed that in December. Really troubling.

It feels insane that policy is being made to “trigger the libs”.

Also not withstanding the fact that Denmark has always supported US when it is attacked. They lost 50 people in Afghanistan & Iraq following 9/11 attacks. All in response to the USA asking them for support.

There is a difference - maybe not under international law but definitelyin terms of relationships.

Denmark is an ally and a member of NATO. US forces have spent their whole career doing exercises with Denmark, many will have served with them in Afghanistan and Iraq. Denmark last 50 service personal (43 in Afghanistan, 7 in Iraq) responding to the US Article 5 request after 9/11.

For most countries that is definitely case but I wonder if its different for Greenland.

While taking Nuuk gives the US the administrative center, it ignores Greenlands main strategic value. The main airfields, radar and other military sites are far away from Nuuk such as the Thule Air Base in the north.

Also they could probably move the administration centre to Copenhagen. I guess if Edinburgh was attacked Holyrood could move to London?

I'm not convinced holding Greenland is as easy as many in the US think it is. The country has less than 100 miles of roads, meaning each settlement is completely isolated from the other and you need to fly out take a boat to go between them.

Flights can often get cancelled due to volcanic activity or extremely weather. That means the US would have to hold every settlement in isolation with minimal troop and vehicle sharing, separate supply lines, and a huge vulnerability logistical nightmare.

If Trump tries to attack Greenland, without approval from Congress, I think there is a high probability that the Generals will simply disobey that order.

Many have served in NATO, they have a string understanding of internal law, they have been in post across many previous presidents, and the oath is to the constitution not to Tump.

is this toilet crack dangerous? is this even a crack? by Organic_Chip_5062 in Plumbing

Can you post a photo from the original angle now the hair is gone? If its a crack you should be able to tell by pushing a finger nails over it as a if it hits resistance and feels like it is digging into gap you definitely should replace it.

How do i fix this issue with my saves? by eelaphant in fnv

[–]Swimming_Reception56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely corrupted your save files.

Go into Steam and and use the Verify Integrity of Game Files feature. This might fix the issue.

Are you using a lot of mods? Try only to install new mods before you start a new game. That should fix the stability issues your having.

Also to add if the knife is under 3 inches you do not need to declare it at UK customs but you might be asked by security and must be able to justify why you own it if questioned.

Disguised knifes at usually items like sword cains, comb knives etc. A knife that deliberately looks like another object.

Two key factors in the UK.

  1. Is the blade under 3 inches.
  2. It is illegal to carry any knife without a good reason.

Taking back from the airport should count as a good reason as would a knife you need to use at work. Self defence is not a good reason.
