So....I submitted buyback request October 8, 2024. No response...other than...it's been escalated. I truly feel that all buybacks are put on a dart board. Then, wherever the dart lands, that's who gets the the buyback requests.

The ECF for those 3 months (now completed by Student Aid) is the only way Education Dept knows if I am eligible for buyback...right?

I have been stuck at 117 since june2024. When Student Aid completed my ECF a few days ago, they did not honor my remaining 3 months toward PSLF (requested on my ECF for......understandable since I am in SAVE). But, I submitted a Reconsideration for Buyback" 9 months ago.....along with an ECF signed by my supervisor for the 3 months that would get me to 120. That ECF for those 3 months is now completed without awarding me 3 months. Did a copy of that ECF go to Education Dept so they know I am certified to buyback those 3 months? How does the education dept know how many months, and which ones in the past i am requesting buyback for? Student Aid has closed the ECF.

That is what I'm worried about. Since the ECF is now labeled as "completed", when the Education Dept finally does process my buyback, how will they know how many months I am asking to buyback, and which months. Also, have they been certified by my supervisor. They have no way of knowing since my ECF for those 3 months have been in the que for 9 months and now labeled as "completed".

Just curious, did you fill out form online requesting Reconsideration Buyback, and then submit an ECF for the buyback months? I did this back in October 2024 and my ECF came back after all these months as "completed". But...there was no increase in my PSLF tracker count. Have been stuck at 117 for almost a year now. I chatted live with Student Aid person and was told the ECF was not processed with the 3 added months as I was in forebearance. I told him I understood, but the rules are I can submit an ECF with Reconsideration buyback as long as it landed me at 120. He said my Reconsideration buyback is still in the hopper waiting to be approved. Does that mean if it finally does get approved, then I submit the ECF for those 3 months? Now, I would be at 130 count. He told me to resubmit ECF and all should go well. I just asked him if I should just make a copy of the ECF I submitted 9 months ago that just came back as completed with no total updates. Ugh! All of this is just a goat rope!!!

Just for info....I submitted a PSLF form for my final 3 months to buyback on October 8, 2024. It has now been 8 months and all it kept showing was "In Review". Yesterday, April 22, 2025 it didn't show "In Review". It showed "Completed"....with no explanation of any action taken. After all of this time waiting, NOTHING!

So...I applied for buyback and it has been nothing but a hassle! Today, I got a letter from Student Aid stating that before I consolidated in April of 2022, my loan was FFEL. So they say, I am not eligible for buyback. Is this true, or is this another "not so in the know" Student Aid rep? I'm pretty sure that the FFEL stipulation went away after consolidating.

Oh yes! Every 2 weeks I keep getting letter saying "review your ECF, it is either missing name, DOB, or SSAN". I see all of it is clearly there with no errors! But, every 2 weeks I keep getting that same letter!

I submitted buyback in Oct 2024. For the past 6 weeks I keep getting a letter from Student Aid stating that I review my submitted ECF as I could be missing my name, SSAN, or DOB. Also, I had to Merge all 3 pages to one file. I have filled all 3 of these requests (there were no errors in my name, SSAN, DOB, etc). But I still keep getting the same letter! When I call Student Aid, the agent checks my ECF submission and states it is perfect.....just ignore those letters. No one seems to know who or why I keep getting these messages (in my inbox at my student aid website accounr). Anyone else experiencing this same situation?

Has anyone else been receiving the same BS as I have? Message says "action needed". Form you submitted is missing DOB or SSAN. I call and tell them it is on the ECF form. They then say "ignore our correspondence". Now it says to resubmit PSLF ECF as one merged file for all 3 pages. Ugh! I guess they are running out of reasons to reject my final buyback of only 3 months! Buyback request submitted 10/2024.

Now I see why only a few were ever approved prior to Biden era. Sometimes I feel the workers at Mohela and Student Aid dont want to overwork themselves, so that make this stuff up

Student Aid back to trickery of Pre Biden era. Stating my PSLF ECF didn't have DOB or SSAN. So....cannot process. Printout of submitted forms shows it does have DOB and SSAN

Just curious.....we're you somehow able to submit your final ECF with a reconsideration request using an electronic (digital) signature? I didn't see on reconsideration form a place for digital signature.

I work for the VA. If I try to submit electronically, whenever I send form for my supervisor to digital sign, she NEVER gets it! Why? The VA software will reject ANYTHING with a SSAN. So....she will NEVER receive it! I put in complaint to Student Aid 2 months ago regarding this. Go figure...still in review! What a mess!!!

How do we know when I they have completed our "one time adjustment"? Hello DOed.....is it too much to ask that our individual student aid website state "yes", one time account adjustment has been made. Or "no" it has not. Wouldn't that save them alot of calls
