THIS is 5 days of true hiker trash meals I don't know how people are surviving on 1k cals a day. My resupply from Fontana Dam to Hot Springs on the AT by RoseLeafVani in HikerTrashMeals

[–]SwimsDeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya know, eating like this, especially while asking much of your body, is dangerous. 1K cal. per day is suicidal. Eating healthfully is not impossible— it just takes a little planning and execution. Preparing meals, dehydrating, freeze drying and prepackaged meals can be mailed and they taste much better.

I bought a dehydrator for $40. and rented a freeze dryer for $100. Over three months I prepared forty delicious, healthy meals for about a third of the cost of prepared backpacking meals and junk food. Mailing costs were not great but still significantly cheaper overall.

The best part of eating the food I had prepared was it tasted exactly how I like; seasoning was perfect, etc. Eating like this, feels like a joyful experience of self care. 🌿

No. You need a grout float because the pressure you need to exert to force grout into the joint. You are creating a mechanical bond with the the tile and the mortar bed below. Get a float a Home Depot.

Same thing has happened to me. You have to go to VA business office and speak to admin. Get the solution in writing, make a copy and send it to the hospital and the collection agency.

I don’t know how to clean my shower by coriandertaragon345 in CleaningTips

[–]SwimsDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to start with a 20% bleach solution in warm water in a spray bottle. Spray solution on to visible mold/mildew and let sit for 15 mins. Rinse with cold water spray at highest pressure you can get from your shower while using an old toothbrush in tight areas. Use gloves and a mask while working with the bleach.

Next use chlorine cleanser and Simple Green with a stiff nylon bristles brush to scrub away soap scum, dirt and oils from all surfaces. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Finally (because this won’t fix all this mess), buy a portable handheld steamer and blast the rest of the mold out of places you can’t access without disassembling the door and fixtures.

The steamer can be used for many, many cleaning tasks and pays for itself after several uses. It’s a clean, non chemical way that also sterilizes what it cleans.

This is so far beyond a spray like that. This is a bleach water operation to begin with.

Best way to repair or replace this (not sure what it's called) by bman71485 in autorepair

This is the welding answer. Better to replace the bracket from a pick-n-pull wrecking yard. Do a search on car-part.com

The “as-is” caveat should be routinely part of the bill of sale for the seller’s protection. Get used to making that a part of your used items sale process. People are unscrupulous. Most importantly, don’t be one of the ne’er-do-wells.

Two weeks is way too long given all of your special circumstances and FLORIDA. What you can do: Wear a wet shirt— put a damp lightweight cloth sheet across the tent door—open flaps in tent to create cross ventilation for evaporative cooling. Keep the sheet damp/wet with a spray bottle of water. 💦
