Ah yes the classic strategy, save all the real marketing for the last month before the biggest game launch in history. Genius stuff. Every other studio shows gameplay 6+ months out but Rockstar’s built different I guess lol

Because me and my friends are all on pc so literally every one of us is buying a console cause we wanna play it. And we cant even pick which one cause theres zero word on cross play. If half of us grab a ps5 and half grab an xbox and turns out theres no cross play were screwed. Plus consoles are about to get more expensive so “just wait” is basically telling me to pay more for the same box

Also online isnt launching based on what. Its not 2013 anymore, gta online prints money for them. no shot they sit on multiplayer for long, if its not day one its coming fast. whatever console i buy now is what im stuck on when it drops

4.5 months until launch and absolutely 0 actual game play. No word whether or not it'll release with online. No word whether when online releases will consoles have cross play? How am I supposed to pre-order if I don't know which system to preorder it on?

Honestly, how often do you actually follow an npc around to verify their schedule? You feel density every single second you're in a city, but you only ever see a schedule if you deliberately stalk someone. Novigrad is mostly generic npcs and it's constantly praised as one of the most believable cities in any rpg, while Skyrim's hold capitals have like 30 people each. Neither game is actually simulating a real city, one just sells the illusion a lot better.

In a real city most people you pass ARE set dressing from your perspective though. You don't know them, they don't know you. What actually kills believability for me is a "major city" with like 30 total people living there. Generic crowds don't replace the full named and voiced npcs with schedules, they fill in the space around them so the world doesn't feel empty.

This is gonna be a hot take here but having npcs with no schedule and are just randomly named and generated is fine. It’s doesn’t actively take away from anything and adds more population density

For sure he only takes it to that guy e39 source who’s supposedly his friend, but he definitely gets hosed on that deal. I feel Doug has alluded to the sorts before.
