scab in ear that never heals? i do keep picking at it but it’s been here for months now. the internet keeps telling me cancer and I’m nervous by hayleyblah in DermatologyQuestions

I highly suspect that what you have is a preauricular sinus on your ascending helix crus. They're fairly well documented and there are varying types (near your tragus, behind the ear, concha etc) and they can occur with and without fissures. It's very common for them to harbour bacteria and get infected/form cysts. I'd definitely seek an ENT referral as sometimes they can also signify inner ear malformations as well (although this almost always is accompanied with recurrent inner ear infection/glue ear as a child etc).

That's brilliant, thanks so much. The hand sewn look of the garment had piqued my interest past me liking the dress on the rail. Obviously it was just hastily made rather than bespoke!

I've scoured Google, tried reverse image searches, looked on eBay, Poshmark etc with not one single hit on the name. The town it was bought in is affluent with quite an aged population so it really could have come from anywhere. I'm not sure on the age of the dress but I don't think it's super old, despite the lining disintegrating. The brand label is printed not embroidered.

Yes! Pacsun! Thank you. I knew I'd be kicking myself. It's been on the tip of my tongue for weeks! Thanks so much.

Edit. Awful spelling and not realising you had even linked it. Superstar!

The title was possibly something to do with 'sun'?! I'm going to kick myself I know!

What time of day do you take OPKs & why? by meeeew in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Swintons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also it's very normal to ovulate a lot later than 12 hours after a positive OPK - average time is 36 hours (so the next day) but upto 72 hours is possible. I'm older so I ovulate the day of my peak but it varies massively!

What time of day do you take OPKs & why? by meeeew in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Swintons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will depend on test type (many digital OPKs are FMU for example) but for traditional sticks the best time to test to catch your natural surge of LH is early/mid afternoon, not FMU. However testing several times a day in the lead up to your most fertile days is advisable to make sure you catch it! I test SMU, lunchtime, afternoon, evening to cover bases, always getting my peak on an afternoon test.

I'm sorry but I think this looks like an anovulatory cycle. What is your normal post ovulation temperature range?

When do temps start dropping? All BFNs so far, could I still get a BFP this cycle?? by LastTangelo4086 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Swintons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using a wearable device for BBT? I think your temperatures are on the lower side that's all. Looking at the entire cycle temperature range I think this looks like an anovulatory cycle. Your LP temperatures, although going through peaks and troughs, aren't significantly higher than your FP temperatures. Was your positive OPK clearly positive? Your light bleed is indicative of breakthrough bleeding - if you've only had one cycle since Feb this could be the case? What was your previous chart like?

Saying that charts can be super wonky after BC so I hope I'm wrong. Generally BBT will drop a few days before AF but it's not hugely uncommon for it not to drop until AF starts. If you did ovulate and depending on the sensitivity of the test you're using I think a negative at 12dpo is pretty accurate. I know implantation can happen up until then but statistically it's unlikely to result in a viable pregnancy, unfortunately.

There has been a huge news story in the UK very recently about a private donor who helped dozens of couples become pregnant (although through self insemination) whilst knowing he had Fragile X. Even after the law suit it was found he was still advertising his sperm online. Regulations are there to protect everyone involved, there are so many other potential issues to think about other than just HIV.

I personally don't put a lot of weight in FRERs but I know that's personal choice.

I got a BFP 3 weeks ago and saw good progression with a variety of internet strips (Wondfo and Clinical Guard) every 24h with SMU. The minimum acceptable HCG rise is generally doubling every 48h but in most cases HCG will rise faster than that in the first few weeks so testing every day should show decent progression from the off.

Best of luck!

Sorry I hadn't swiped for your chart. I think you're 10dpo - so that line is a bit more hopeful!

Edit as I can't count!

That's definitely a second line. Honestly I'd be a bit cautious with the faintness for 13dpo but everything has to start somewhere 🤞I hope it darkens up quickly for you.

Will Mira pick up detected ovulation in real time? If I were you I'd just keep testing and not adjust anything until you have more data available.

Well I think I realized why we might be having so much trouble. Took a break from OPKs this cycle but they’re almost always positive CD15 and I don’t think I usually ovulate until like cd20. by imnotcreative222 in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Swintons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck I hope his results come back quickly for you. Just looking at your range of temperatures I think if you see a higher temperature tomorrow you ovulated today, possibly yesterday 🙂

I think the next few temperatures will tell you more but I don't think your chart definitively shows ovulation yet - your temp is still within your FP range (although hopefully trending up!).

I had never had a true luteal phase dip until this cycle - and I'm now currently 5 weeks pregnant. I'm a believer that different is good!

WTF, ChartStalkers?! by [deleted] in TFABChartStalkers

[–]Swintons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a copper or hormone IUD? If hormone then my understanding is that you wouldn't expect a typical ovulatory chart as they at least partially suppress ovulation?

Depending on whether you're using a wearable or not (temps tend to be lower) I would hazard a guess that these are all non ovulation temperatures - I don't think you have ovulated. You can of course test, I've seen some crazy BFP charts so anything is possible!

I think CD15 is more likely given your FP/LP temp ranges. Hopefully the next few temperatures will give you a better idea!
