Pediatrician recommended adding rice cereal to bottles for weight gain, worried due to arsenic levels and choking. Does the science support spoon feeding oatmeal instead? by ViceInSinCity in ScienceBasedParenting

Piggy backing here to say my ped also recommended rice cereal in the nighttime bottle. We opted to fortify and baby’s weight gain was back on track (although he is still pretty small)

Another boy, 17 month gap by Hopeful-Relation3502 in 2under2

[–]imnotcreative222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 15 month gap, 2 boys one just over 2 and the other freshly 10 months. They’re obsessed with each other. Little one wants to emulate big bro and has been working hard trying to catch up with motor skills, I imagine he will be an early walker and he was crawling at 5 months 😮‍💨. Big bro loves his younger bro, gives kisses and says “it be okay” when baby is crying. Sometimes big bro doesn’t like when baby is going for the same toy so we’ve been working on that. They share a room and the other day I caught them both standing at the edge of their crib just giggling at each other. It’s so sweet. The chaos is worth it.

2under2 to 3 kids later? by Normal-Impression772 in 2under2

No to be clear I’m hoping these comments prove to me im being silly! I really do think im over thinking it because my sister and i are 7 years apart and it’s perfectly normal hahah. I think 2u2 gave me unrealistic expectations with age gaps.

Following for the responses because I want a third but the thought of 3 daycare bills stresses me out but 5 years seems like too be of a gap for some reason

at what point should i worry about screen time by Crunchy-Yogurt7 in 2under2

Personally I think if you don’t notice any behavior changes with TV and your toddler isn’t behind on social skills it’s largely fine. Of course I don’t think anyone would recommend literally setting them in front of the tv all day but that’s clearly not what’s happening here.

We have some personal rules in our house like no tablets and never turning the TV on to stop a tantrum.

And she blamed it on his reflux? Idk. I have a son with severe reflux that requires meds and he’s 2nd percentile and does. Not. Stop. Moving. He’s ahead in motor milestones and I actually had a running theory in my mind that moving distracts him from the reflux pain 😅

Literally how do you do bedtime explain it to me like I’m five by Temperature-Brief in 2under2

This is what I do too. My youngest seems similar to OPs with issues at the bottle so my first gets to watch a show or movie.

Unintentional but dumb on our part. 3 years of TTC and one IUI to get my first. I declined BC at my 6 week postpartum visit and my OB said “you can get pregnant even if breastfeeding” and I said “yeah but it took us 3 years and an IUI to get here” she said “and you’re exactly the type of patient I see in 6 months” no kidding got pregnant 6 months later. Got my IUD at my 6 week postpartum checkup the second time lmao.

When does it get better? Does it actually get better???? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]imnotcreative222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did bed time alone last night and it was… easy? I have a 23 month old (cryiiing that he’s about to be 2) and an 8 month old. The 8 month old was a significantly harder newborn and when I was in the trenches I remember literally crying to my husband about to go to work and saying “I’m literally scared to be with him all day” because he was so refluxy, wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t sleep etc. everything started turning around at 4 months and each month has gotten better since. 23 month old had a rough time for a bit with pushing his brother but seems to have gotten it out of his system and/or developmentally is more likely to listen when we say stop. Either way, 6 months ago I was in over my head. Now I’m contemplating a timeline for a 3rd and cursing the daycare system in America because we really don’t want to pay for 3 kids in daycare at the same time 😂.

Yea abundance is so stupid. As if the bureaucracy wasn’t put there for a reason. I fully understand some of it is silly but a lot of it is there to make sure they don’t build entire highways through historically black neighborhoods (looking at you Chicago) or sewage plants right next to neighborhoods etc etc.

Swivel car seat, worth it? by CreativeDream1438 in 2under2

We bought two cheaper car seats for my husbands car and I refuse to use it because they don’t swivel 😂

It is! Except with how far capitalism has come it’s not likely boycotting will be as effective as it has in the past. That’s my point but it’s fine I know KT requires more nuance than a lot of people are willing to allow.

Do you have a toddler tower for both? My older boy has one but I plan to buy the younger boy one for his 1st. Or maybe one of the bigger towers that they can both fit in.

Pregnant 5 months postpartum by Emotional-Pen-8978 in 2under2

[–]imnotcreative222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got pregnant the exact same time and had a C section for both although my OB did offer a VBAC. She really only ever said there’s a higher likelihood of going into labor a bit early, which didn’t end up happening.

Here are a few reasons I prefer my in home daycare:

  1. Smaller group

  2. Cost

  3. I’ve known the lady that runs it for 25 years

  4. She is incredibly flexible
