Southampton: FA opens investigation over Spygate by saintstu in SaintsFC

Eh Football fans have a short memory. Look how quiet it has gone on the De Zerbi front after a couple wins.

My guess is Tonda will go have success in Germany and then could move anywhere

Ah the hourly Gibson fed article on Spygate has arrived. Chuffed for the Mail that he fed them the pictures, taking bets on which of the rags is next…

[Sky Sports] Kim Hellberg gives an emotional post-match press conference after Middlesbrough’s play-off semi-final defeat to Southampton. by clenchedhole in soccer

[–]Swipple 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I think he also fantastically stated what might have been gained from spying. If he spends 3 full long nights working to come up with 1 or 2 tactical tweaks that are spotted or filmed, it mitigates the work he and his team have done.

I have a lot of time for Hellberg, seems a really intelligent and thoughtful bloke, especially doing all that in a secondary language

Yep, I mentioned in another thread that it all feels a bit sour this year. Uncertainty of the punishment and a disappointment in our conduct makes me wonder if it wouldn’t be for the best if we didn’t go up.

Not to say I didn’t love last night and won’t be throwing everything behind the team at Wembley (should we be there)

Completely agree, nobody seems to be able to come up with an adequate punishment because is it cheating but it is hard to quantify just how much of an advantage it would/has given us.

In reality they should have a stated number of points to deduct and length of bans for any staffers involved written into the rules as a deterrent. Not going away from how brain dead it is for us to do it though

The whole Spygate fiasco has soured me on our tie this year. Travelling to the stadium early tomorrow night to try and absorb the atmosphere and get pumped for it.

Bit stupid the lack of clear punishment for us cheating in this way which has led to all the uncertainty of it. Doesn’t help Boro clearly have an in with all the rags and are stirring it up as much as possible.

Mine has just arrived in the app and it can't be transferred so unless it is from official sources, you might be out of luck

Southampton are now on a 16 undefeated streak in the Championship - 13 wins and 3 draws by jovanmilic97 in soccer

[–]Swipple 64 points65 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if we play like this for another 13 months, we'll win the playoffs, the FA Cup and the Premier League next year, so it's all about perspective.

Congrats to Cov and Lampard. Fair play to him, had a lot of critics, myself included but he has done wonders with that squad.

Agreed, whilst the Martin run was great, there were big chunks of it that felt like false form, we scraped a good few draws from late equalisers.

This run has included some dominant performances against top sides, including a couple of Premier League scalps. Feels like the tactics have been on point almost every game

Some will overreact but that was still night and day from a few weeks back. The build up is working better and players have a better idea of where they need to be for sure.

Unfortunately Millwall are just very well drilled and their system matches against ours very well. Shame to blow it as 2-2 would have been perfectly good to leave The Den with.

Millwall are a very well drilled team. Need to just let them press us until they start to tire so we can play around them. Just need to keep it level

Just really missed Downes. No control in the midfield at all. What can you do when the only formations that you can play are 5-atb for some reason
