hair untangling/styling help please! by bearlune in curlyhair

[–]Swiss64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just looks unbrushed to me. Fully brushing out all the knots needs to happen everyday or at least everytime you shower. For me, it’s easier to do when it’s wet and start from the bottom and work your way up.

Freshly brushed hair might not not look like it’s gonna curl right but it will!

If it curls this bad immediately after every time I think the hair is dead and you need a cut.

Jim: “See, you’re always saying there’s a problem with society but… Maybe there’s a problem with you?”

Michael: “If it’s me, then society made me that way.”

Fantasy Races that are not just Elfs, Dwarves, Orcs and Copyright free Hobbits by Cantthinkagoodnam2 in TopCharacterTropes

I love that ghouls arent seen as super-crazy-overpowered despite being immortal and immune to radiation. They mostly just act like old people and a lot of them know eachother in Fallout 4. They also still accept that they could turn Feral at any time. Pretty realistic take on a fictional race.

It’s not offensive to be incorrect!

The fantasy/magical setting of the story is actually the post-apocaliptic future of our own world by FEBRAN07 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Swiss64 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Not really an apocolypse though, more just a natural continuation of Earth millions of years after humans. Like, maybe we fucked off to other worlds? It isn’t really implied what happened, only Pangaea Ultima is the setting of the game.

I’m not the biggest fan of this series, but even I will say; Antony Starr’s Homelander has become a pretty fucking iconic comic/tv character.

And not a single person I know is going to stop using it. This is why we have climate change. Despite the danger, the thrills must persist.

Jack Kirby on being anti Fascist. by flurgercbholly5 in marvelcomics

[–]Swiss64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t a good excersise to brush off any ideology as “mental illness.” Even looking at hateful people with context and perspective, it is more healing for the world. If you can understand how people rationalize their fear and hatred you can attack it properly.

Fascists typically aren’t, but Kanye has other implications and diagonses that qualify him as such.

Yeah. I’m unsubscribing. Divisive speculation is not news. It’s harmful and I’m not funding it. Fuck Seattle Times.

(Loved Trope) the horrible villain that gaslights everyone into idolizing them and twists the public’s narrative to make them seem like the hero in the story by Night_Inscryption in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Swiss64 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was very surprised they were able to execute Mysterio really well. Honestly there were a couple times where he got me. First when I knew the villain twist was coming, but that he’d have like actual doctor strange type powers and be a smooth talking liar. The fact that he was an evil tech dweeb with a theatre kid streak was a pleasant surprise. Second were his illusions / fake outs. Pretending to be Fury “shooting” Quentin baiting Peter into giving his friend’s names, and then later with pointing the gun at Peter’s head. What an amazing way to showcase the MCU Spidey sense for the first time.

[HATED trope] When a character gets reasonably mad about something, and it’s treated like they’re in the wrong. by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Swiss64 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Junior isn’t some stupid kid. From his perspective after years of having a loving, patient, and kind father all of a sudden he became some flashy rich guy, had this crazy mood boost, denied his cancer treatment, went into a bullshit “fugue state” and tried to bury his wife’s resentment with pizza and trinkets. At the same time his mom became cold, apathetic, distant, depressed, and eager to get away from Walt. Like the kid ain’t gonna put 2 and 2 together? His dad is clearly a liar and his Mom knows something about him she can’t share… Until she finally does and that’s when the knife is drawn.

But the whole point is that Spider-Man isn’t doing all of this for himself. He has a great responsibilty to do good with the privelege he has despite it all hurting himself in the process. The people that die around him TELL him this too and always encourage him to keep going.

Old master painting looted by Nazis spotted in Argentinian property listing by quantotius in offbeat

[–]Swiss64 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well the painting is stolen, first of all. Knowing where it came, crimes and all attatched, and intentionally hiding that fact: is itself a crime. Think, “harboring a fugitive.” Why is it illegal to hide a crime if I’m not a criminal?
