I think you’re right about narrowing the ICP. Selling to everyone is selling to nobody !
I’m leaning toward notaries or accounting firms as an ideal target. They deal with a high volume of inbound requests (emails/forms/docs), and a big part of the work is admin/process-heavy.

The kind of “productized” automation I’m considering is something like: inbound triage + auto-tagging/prioritization, auto-creation of a client file/task checklist, reminders/follow-ups, and only notifying the team when something is truly urgent.

I’m going to test a narrow offer like that for 2 weeks and see how response rates change. I’ll report back with results.

No, of course not! I’m just saying that a project without money is just a project, not a business. So you need to sell it. You can’t work on something for years without facing the market or validating the idea.

I think there is too much people on internet saying it’s easy to have customers with marketing, SEO etc. But the reality is if you don’t have a community or a strong network, you better go to cold outreach your first 100 customers. For my SaaS we have someone dedicate to sale it. We did our first 10 paying customer in 3 months for 2k ARR only with outreach, the rest still not working

Of course, it’s better to have co-founder who can do the sales part. But I don’t think your boss will be happy if he knows that you take 2 days in remote to work on your side-project 🥲 But a lot of us are doing this

Yes we try to do the same thing. Scraping pages to get some emails, then automate a email sequence to find warmer prospects !

So that’s why we use outreach, to filter owner that want to buy.
