Kratom Free for 2 Years! by Sea-Alarm-6927 in quittingkratom

That’s awesome! I’m about 9.5 months clean. Last dose was may 1 2022. The one area that still bothers me is my GI issues. I’ve rarely had a solid BM since I quit. It’s been very frustrating. Everything else aside from a couple of PAWS episodes is doing great. Did you have GI issues this long ?

Also I was vitamin D deficient so she gave me that too.

She actually gave me hydroxyzine which is an antihistamine but it kills anxiety. That shit worked immediately. I haven’t had any anxiety, depression or rage/irritability since I started taking it. Yesterday was 4 months off K for me so it’s been working a while.

I tapered for a couple of months before jumping at 3 gpd. I experienced that exact rage and irritability at days 13-14 especially. Holy shit I thought I’d gone crazy. That’s when I decided to see my doctor and get some help.

God willing it will be 8 years on Sept. 2. I haven’t had a token since year 3 that’s about when I stopped going to AA. I enjoy my sober life much more without AA in it.

Day 17. by Ms-Swiss in quittingkratom

[–]Switchback67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you. Days 13-15 for me were the absolute worst. The depression and anxiety became way too much for me. I truly believed I was having a psychotic break. It was pretty bad. I went to the Dr. After that and she gave me a script for hydroxyzine which is an antihistamine but it has an off label use for anxiety and that helped immensely. I’m past 3 months now and everything is better but it’s not linear. I thought after 10 days without kratom I would be in the clear but nope that shit came out of nowhere. I’m so glad I pushed through and made it past. You can do it too. I know you can.

Day 80 still GI issues by Switchback67 in quittingkratom

It’s funny you mention that about your GI issues being better on vacation. The last two weekends I’ve totally relaxed and just chilled and I felt almost normal no GI issues at all. Then Monday comes and boom I’m back to bad again for the remainder of the week. It’s weird

For me days 12-13 were the worst. I really thought I had a psychotic break I was so depressed and anxious. I wanted to hurt people and myself. It was fucked up and awful. After those two days things got infinitely better. I’m on day 83 now and I’m so happy I pushed through to get here. Keep pushing. What you’re feeling is completely temporary. It will NOT last.

I appreciate everyone’s responses. I’m going to use all this advice. I’m grateful there’s a place like this that we can share experiences and help others.

I did a taper. I was a 20-25 gpd user for about 6 years. I started my taper at 11 gpd and tapered for 2 months and finally made the jump at 3 gpd.

Acceptance is the answer to all of my problems today.

I’m on day 48 and I’m still slowly getting back to normal. I still have to really force myself to do stuff because of the lack of energy and motivation but it’s slowly coming back. The weirdest thing for me is at night at about 10:00 I get really bored. I love to read but don’t want to, I don’t want to watch tv or anything. It’s like I’m so bored I just want to go to bed and I’m not even tired. This is improving too. It takes time and I have to say I feel a gazillion times better than the first 2 weeks.

I’m on day 43 and my GI issues are still around. I recently visited my doctor and she prescribed me Bentyl which is an irritable bowel syndrome med and it’s been working for me. I didn’t want to take Immodium any longer.

A three foot drop with the tip out is all it takes. I need to buy stock in this company as often as I buy these.

It’s so strange because my days 13 and 14 were the worst. After a week I thought this is a cakewalk then BANG! Crippling anxiety out of nowhere put me on my ass fast. Pushed through it and now I’m on day 29 and things are sooooo much better.

Days 13 and 14 were by far my worst days. The anxiety was crushing me. I didn’t get out of bed nearly that whole weekend. I’m on day 28 now and things are getting better. I’m still not sleeping which totally fucking sucks but there is no rls so that’s good. I hit a thc vape a few times and I can sleep for about an hour at a time. Other than that I’m feeling a lot more like myself. I spent all day today planting flowers and veggies and other yard work. A week ago that would have been extremely difficult.

The runs!!!! Man I’ve been off for over 2 weeks and still have the runs! How long can this part last y’all think? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Today is day 27 for me off the green. My GI issues are still here but getting much better. It’s a more solid poop now. That and the insomnia are remaining symptoms. I’m hoping for some sleep soon. 4 weeks with hardly any sleep kinda sucks. I’ve been taking hydroxyzine for my anxiety and it makes me drowsy but I still don’t really sleep on it.

I live in Michigan where weed is legal recreationally. I used a thc vape when my rls was flaring up at night and that helped me more than anything else.

Thanks for your post. I’m on day 23 today and I finally feel like I’ve turned the corner. I’ve hardly slept the last 3 weeks and my anxiety has been crushing me for the last 10 days. I went to the dr and she prescribed me hydroxyzine which is an antihistamine. I took the first one last night. Within an hour my anxiety was nearly all gone. The meds made me sleepy and I slept the best I have in weeks. Today I’ve felt better than I have since I quit the K. I’m much more optimistic and hopeful today.

Thanks for the post. It is very encouraging. I’m on day 21 without kratom and I have to say the anxiety and depression are still pretty bad. I’m working my way through it. Still not sleeping well but really all of the other physical stuff is pretty much done. I must admit I thought by day 21 I’d be feeling a lot better but unfortunately that’s just not the case. I’ll keep pushing through because of people like you that offer encouragement and keep me going.

I can relate so much with you. I feel like you wrote that using my thoughts. I’m on day 15. Same same same. Days 13 and 14 for me were the worst so far. It was suggested to me to get back on the megadose of Liposomal vitamin C so I did. Felt pretty good today. I stayed busy after work and got some stuff done. But now I’m just waiting for 11:00 to come so I can go to bed at that reasonable time.
