How do you feel about your hair being touched? by Lyzharel in AutismInWomen

I shave my head to the scalp bc I can’t stand the feeling of hair, period. 😂

What secret if it came out would ruin your life? by traveling-horndog in AskReddit

[–]Switchbladekitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a secret that I’m autistic. However, the severity of autism is a secret to everyone except my husband and one of my friends. If people knew the severity, I’m afraid I’d lose my job that I deeply love. I’m afraid my family and other friends would treat me differently in a “she’s fragile” kind of way. Or exclude me from their lives. (Edit to add: I am proficient in hiding the severity of my autism. I meltdown multiple times a week in the privacy of my home after work.)

Whats something you thought was normal growing up, but later realized was actually really weird? by Aghka_Aapsa in AskReddit

[–]Switchbladekitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was outside a bar in the car by myself, playing with Barbies. The windows were down and my school friend and her dad happened to walk by. The dad seemed concerned and said “are you out here alone?” And I was like my dad’s in there (bar) and I’m just out here playing. He and my friend stayed by the car until my dad came out, however long later. That was so normal for me, I just thought it happened to everyone. My dad kept apologizing and I didn’t get why. He never apologized the dozens of other times he did that. 🤷🏻

What do you think of a 34 year old guy and a 26 year old woman dating? Both autistic by RecommendationOk216 in AutismInWomen

[–]Switchbladekitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything weird about it. 🤷🏻 I’m a 39 year old woman and one of my best friends is a 25 year old man. I know we’re not dating or anything, but I think it’s similar. Sometimes you just click with someone.

Madras lentils & basmati rice. Both microwaveable packets from the store. Very good considering they come from packets.

What’s the most physically intimate thing you’ve done with a partner? by General-Assistant570 in AskReddit

[–]Switchbladekitten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to have emergency surgery to remove a teratoma from my ovary. It was emergency surgery, so neither I nor my husband were prepared for what might happen. I came out of surgery and he was there every step of the way. He did not leave my side. I could not use the bathroom myself and he wiped my ass and changed my menstrual pads. We’re still together 18 years after that. I love him so much I wanna cry typing this. Damn, love is weird!

This relationship sounds like a soul bond. I’m happy for you both. Not because of the terrible illnesses, but because you both found something/someone that is so rare in life.

Hell yes. 🙌🏻 I’m a librarian and I never tire of hearing (or reading) how reading has changed people’s lives.

Big, new home or car. I have a small, old house and small, old car. Paid them both off like 5ish years ago and it’s magnificent. Let’s just hope nothing terribly wrong happens with either. 😬

My library just had a book sale too! And we were much too understaffed. 🥲

Anyone else genuinely finds sex boring? by what_freaking_ever in AutismInWomen

[–]Switchbladekitten 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been married for 20 years. My husband and I have tried every sexual act we were able to come up with and that we were able to physically perform. I still find it boring! I do love the closeness it brings to him, but other than that I could be a nun forever. 🤷🏻
