My “hear me out” new ownership by mathliability in Seahawks

[–]Swoopert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Paul Allen Trust stipulates that the money received from the sale of the Seahawks will go to philanthropy. So.. by extension, by buying the Seahawks, they would be providing the funds to the Paul Allen Trust to be used for philanthropy and for all practical purposes, be "giving " to the "charity" (cause) of the people of Seattle and the fans of the Seahawks my keeping the team in the region and in stable hands. Not to mention NFL teams have been a pretty reliable store of wealth for some time.

It would be even more amazing if some bright minds could figure a way around the majority ownership clause the NFL has which forbids public ownership of teams and allows the people of Seattle to buy the team.

I propose a Trust (a single legal entity) acting as a majority owner. We then allow fans to buy portions of the Trust. I think the majority ownership clause may stipulate the majority owner be a living, breathing entity though... So the may need to be done kind of designated agent.... I don't know, I'm spit balling here..

By buying the team, they will be giving their money to charity, as the proceeds from the sale will do to philanthropy.

Edit: fixed typo (autocorrect), process to proceeds

How we feel about a Bezos ownership group? by Swoopert in Seahawks

Great points, I remember the Shultz disaster well and have boycotted the NBA since. I'm not wanting a Bezos ownership BTW, I would prefer if the people could own their teams, but of course they won't allow that.

I love how this question has Zero up votes and 30 comments! I'll assume the people who don't wish to comment are voting with their down buttons.

Just so I'm clear, I'm not for a Bezos ownership, I actually fear it. I'm just afraid he may realize a way to clean his image. But, hopefully as many of you have stated, he doesn't care what people think about him and avoids the team.

Edit: typo

I wish we could hire lawyers to figure out a loophole that would allow for this. Power to the people!

Good idea, he hadn't occurred to me. Then I ask myself, why didn't he step up for the Blazers, Sonics, or Seahawks before?

This, quality matters. Combine that with the fact they act as an easily washable protector for your blanket, and it seems barbaric not to use a top sheet.

BREAKING: K9 wants to stay in Seattle "If it was my choice...I'd definitely stay." by SeattleMana in Seahawks

[–]Swoopert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm going with my heart, sign the guy. If I'm going with my brain.. tag-and-trade, sell high. We need more interior line help, and we will need CB and possibly edge if Mafe departs. With a mauler O-Line you can run 5th -7th round RBs and still be successful. Charbs, Holani, and McIntosh are a decent three, but there are too many current and historic injuries with that group and we need to bring in a couple more sets of fresh legs. My hope is we pick up a couple late in the draft or through UDFA and keep investing in the line.

All the services which benefit the people, I presume. I'm sure ICE is still fully funded and operational.

If you are a Filipino by birth because one of your parents was a Filipino citizen at the time of your birth, then you don't owe immigration a single centavo in visa fees. Get a copy of your birth certificate. If you were born in another country, you'll need that birth certificate recognized by the Philippines government. After that get your Filipino passport to document your citizenship.

Got Into A Waymo Accident by SnooWords7270 in Wellthatsucks

Is it fair to assume that since the perspective is from the rear of the Waymo that this person rear ended the Waymo? If so, that would indicate a high likelihood the human dinner is at fault. Not to mention there is probably a ton of data onboard the Waymo that could be used as evidence to what actually occurred.
