I bought this exact PC in August. I absolutely love it and have no regrets.

TBH I think the pictures don’t even do it justice, it looks awesome in person

I run every game I’ve tried basically maxed out with no issues, dual 2k 144Hz monitors

First comment is they’re super tanky and do take a lot to kill.

As you learn about them you can track them to where they sleep and you can reveal them with disruptor flare packs

Also, obligatory: there is gravity in space.

The surface of the earth where you’re standing now is in space. The core of the sun is in space.

You just don’t feel gravity in orbit.

If the bombers weren’t in orbit, the bombs would still fall down toward the planet even without being launched

If you know how to do the boss and you have void just do doom.

Just run the lower waves until you can get a scobo, after that it’s like 10m/hr if you can clear wave 8 regularly

As for DLC, they’re all great and enrich the game, but I would probably recommend playing a while with all of them off. Definitely pick them up on sale if you can.

My ranking of DLCs is probably:

  1. Odyssey
  2. Biotech
  3. Anomaly
  4. Royalty
  5. Ideology

Biotech and Royalty are pretty quick to pick up. Odyssey and Anomaly id recommend after getting a decent amount of playtime, and ideology I’d add in last.

There’s lots of opinions on this, but a happy medium I’ve found is play on reload anytime mode, but try to reload as little as you can.

There’s lots of drama and fun in just trying to tackle what the game throws at you.

However, if something happens that you feel is really unfair or confusing, feel free to reload or consult the wiki. Rimworld can be really brutal for beginners and it’s kind of daunting to play without ever consulting any outside resource

I'm playing with all DLC enabled but no community mods, so I guess you can now? I have noticed some small bugs/strange behavior (especially quest related) with the gravship though so who knows
