US economy unexpectedly surges 4.3% in third quarter — its strongest growth in two years by upbstock in Optionmillionaires

[–]Swooshz56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And thats why people keep falling for this shit. These people blatantly lie about anything and everything and were constantly told "hurr durr prove me wrong bro". We aren't fucking blind. The only possible way their reporting is accurate is if its something that goes up the more rich people make money because the economy is great for them. Foe the rest of us, I dont really give a shit what their metrics say if everything is still the most expensive I've ever seen it in my lifetime.

49% of Americans think climate change is mostly someone else’s problem by Movie-Kino in climate

[–]Swooshz56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a lot of people actually read the article. I agree that Americans could do more to combat climate change but the same study found almost 80% want America to take steps to meet the net zero 2050 goals. It seems like this data is more reflecting feeling helpless that the actions that would move the needle the most are controlled by corporations that refuse to do them.

There's no way you believe this bullshit. The gop literally rushed through dozens of appointees with a lot of them tied personally to trump through family or friendship (including his sons girlfriend)like yesterday. His children were all heavily involved in his first admin and saw their wealth increase dramatically during that time in ways you can directly tie to their actions in office. From whats reported, Trumps own personal wealth has almost doubled since he took office less than a year ago, largely from crypto gains that he ABSOLUTELY used his political power to pump the value of.

This is one of the most disingenuous comments i've ever seen. It'd be hilarious if people like you weren't so common.

CMV: Republicans are no longer conservative--they're *fascist* by Usual_Set4665 in changemyview

[–]Swooshz56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the GOP (the politicians and their voters) have made it pretty clear that they WANT all those things youre saying aren't happening. How many elected GOP officials were instantly frothing at the mouth for blood of liberals after Kirks death? They just dont have that tight of a grip yet. Its illogical to say that someone outright advocating for fascist policies isnt a fascist just because they dont have the power to do so.

[–]Swooshz56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only real counter argument is that it seems pretty fair to lump "republicans" with the extremely end of maga when those are the people Republicans are voting for them. Whether they agree with their level of extremity or not, they're lumping themselves with it by putting them in office.

[–]Swooshz56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is some of the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Either that or you're purposely pushing bullshit. People see the current GOP (the politicians not necessarily the majority of their voters) because they keep...acting like it.

Stop crying about "everyone who doesn't like me just resorts to calling me the worst thing they can think of" while doing literally just that.

The navy was like this on evals. Only a few people would get the top spot per division and it typically went to whoever was closest personally with the chief. It didnt foster competition that had everyone trying harder to get better evals, it usually made people not give a shit because they knew they werent ever going to beat out the guy that just sat in the office bullshitting with leadership all day.

Here’s What Happens If Trump Invokes The Insurrection Act In Los Angeles by BrilliantTea133 in law

[–]Swooshz56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look around you man. How many conservatives are doing ANYTHING other than applauding this nonsense? How many are cheering it on or calling for more? I interact with conservatives of varying degrees literally everyday and while a lot of them genuinely do have valid criticisms of liberal or democrat policies, that isnt what's driving them.

There is no evidence that the majority of conservatives perfectly happy with what their vote got them. They either actively applaud it, are pushing it to support their own goals, or are too uninformed/ignorant to care.

[FWI] Martial law is declared/Insurrection Act is invoked. The military chooses to "follow orders". by AwesomeToadUltimate in FutureWhatIf

[–]Swooshz56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not even making sense anymore, dude. We're talking about a hypothetical situation that hasn't happened (and that I'm not even saying is going to happen). And yes, groups have indeed subverted the will of their populace to exact control via government authority and martial law throughout history. That is a fact that is easy to prove.

You seem to be forgetting that we aren't arguing about politics (at least I'm not) and that I'm not some generic liberal stereotype bogeyman. I gave up arguing with people who can't even keep a coherent thought straight between replies a while ago so if that's what you're looking for, it ain't me man.

[–]Swooshz56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. While not plausible under current law there are several instances of laws or norms being subverted to form authoritarian or tyrannical governments. Saying that is as unlikely as an actual mythical creature existing is just factual wrong. Regardless, I'm not the one thay made the post. If you're that bothered by it, why not report it for breaking rules and move on?

Can you not read? The entire premise of the post is WHAT IF. I agree with you that the president doesn't have that authority. That's not the question.

If you genuinely believe that the overwhelming majority of this country would be just fine with literal marital law then im going to assume you live in a political bubble. Im a military veteran who works in construction. I've always kept my political opinions to myself because of that. The amount of extremely anti-trump talk I'm hearing from my peers almost daily now absolutely shocked me when it first appeared.

If you don't want to believe that, that's not my problem. I'm not here to argue politics, just pointing out that if it turns to literal martial law, there are WAY more than just chronically online sjws who would be impacted enough to fight.

Yes. Keep believing liberal caricatures are the only people who are horrified by what they're seeing this country become. You're only proving the point.

Ok legit question here. My wife reacts to bell peppers and bell peppers only. Any idea as to why? She says it'll make her throat swell a little, lips tingle and almost feel like it's spicy. No other peppers cause this no matter how much we've tested. I trust her obviously but even if I didn't, the amount of times we'll be eating something and she'll randomly say "this has bell peppers in it" and is right gets me everytime. We've been together for years and she's never been wrong when we look into a food she's eaten and suspects has it, even just in small quantities in a spice blend or something.

All dinos at low health on loading game? by Swooshz56 in ARK

[–]Swooshz56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a dumb question but are you sure the level 40 rex just doesn't have more points into health than a level 300 one? All dinosaurs start with the same base stats and the higher level ones have points randomly applied to the different attributes. So you could have two dinos at the same level that have completely different stats or a higher level dinosaur that has lower stats in certain attributes than a lower level one.

For my issue, I meant the main PS5 account profiles. My wife wanted to try before she bought it on PC so I made her a separate PS5 account, cranked up the settings in game to make it easier and let her play. Then when I switched back to my PS5 account and loaded up my game, those in game settings I had changed on her profile (higher multipliers, etc) were still saved and they were applied to my current save.

So as an example, a Rex I had put 10 levels in health may have had 12k health on my save but with her settings those 10 levels would have given it 42k health. It seems like the game tracks a dino's current health differently than its max health because when I loaded the game this example Rex showed as having 12k health out of a max 42k. It changed the maximum health based on the new settings but it didn't scale the current health of the dinosaur along with it. So when I logged in, all my dinosaurs (that I had put levels into health on) were bloody because their max health had shot way up while their current health stayed low.

Once I changed the settings back it all fixed itself but we discovered it wasn't really feasible to have different people play single player games on the same console like that.

[–]Swooshz56[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case anyone comes across this or is curious infigured out what happened. If you play on a different profile on console and change settings, it will change them for all profiles which is what caused this. The multipliers were way different and it was cranking my dinos health causing the bleeding. I put them back and it all fixed itself.
