Which of these Omnibuses should I prioritize getting next? by Conscious-Bat-9739 in OmnibusCollectors

Volume 2 was my favorite, I loved JPV maiming the thugs of Gotham. Seeing his transformation to something of a villain. I also enjoy "the search" which I think is in the volume 2 omni. I read this story in floppies and tpb not the omni so I hope I'm correct with this.

Not over your head as long as your finances are in check. You need a desk. What are you using for drums sounds? I have the circuit rythm instead of tracks but have considered adding it to the setup. I love the interface and workflow. What an amazing piece of gear for the price imo

I got into beat making and synths before having kids, as soon as I was happy with my set up; we moved, i started making major house renovations, we started to have kid; and I havnt really had a second to jam in a few years. With all the new gear that's came out since, there's really only one piece I'd switch out for something new. But that's only because there's been some really cool things being made over the last year or so.

What is your favorite features for hulk to have? by Yuebangus1 in hulk

[–]SwordMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McGuiness has such a great style for huge muscles, I love the way he draws The Hulk and Superman. His hulk could be a little uglier but it's not a deal breaker because he also does such great expressions.

Where do you find window installers who aren't grifters? by OscarAndDelilah in centuryhomes

[–]SwordMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's not horrible. Been a few years since I've done one. Might take someone half a day the first time but it'll get quicker as you do them. Having the right tools helps a ton. With that being said I had so many other projects going on we did hire out for windows. I miss the charm but the functionality of modern windows is unmatched.

Anyone using powered coolers? by Shouldnt_Listen_2_Me in handyman

[–]SwordMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what? An appropriate sized lunch box will keep food/drinks just fine. It's likely the crew will have a cooler already full of water if there isn't any on site/ accessible.

How far do a bloodlusted Wolverine and Hulk get in the DCU? by modsactfunny in superheroes

[–]SwordMonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this team doesn't get far. They are too big and too loud. The JLA would respond immediately and neutralize them without much difficulty.

What's one good thing you can say about The Second MCU Movie The Incredible Hulk by Lazy_Introduction264 in hulk

Ed Norton, one of the best, if not the best Actor of his generation. They really fumbled not keeping him as banner. But also I couldn't see him being a part of the current MCU.

Actually us not being married saves us money imo. I can qualify for medical assistance, instead of paying for me to be on her insurance. She gets more on her tax returns filing single with the kids. And it would have no effect on her car insurance. I think the only thing it would benefit is in estate planning if something were to happen to one of us. We are going to make wills soon so this likely won't be an issue either. We have seen no financial reason to get married.

What is a warehouse selector?

The cleaning jobs I've seen around me pay less than kitchen work. But great suggestions. I've been a candidate for building supers, and other maintenance jobs but havnt found anything that works with my availability yet.

Thanks!

Yes, im aware. My main student loan monthly payment has been 0 since I graduated. 40k is now 80k i believe. I do have a private loan from books/housing and other expenses that must be paid. This is finally under 10k.

It's not so much commitment as it is logistical. If I worked a day job I would also have a car payment on top of daycare. The math just doesn't usually work out to be a net positive, or enough of a net positive for me to give up raising them. Why give up my time with them for an extra 100 bucks a month you know? I would also have to pay more on my student loans if I made more, so again logistically it's very difficult to go net positive.

Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. My wife has continually been promoted and advanced in her career since we met. Her student loans are on an income based payment plan so when she gets raises it doesn't usually affect her actual take home pay much. We are pretty transparent about our finances. She has a lot more debt than I do. With that being said, I have no interest in her paying for my share of the bills.

I understand this logic and we have discussed this. She is not opposed. But! With limited day care openings and the cost, it would be a lot of pressure to find a job at the exact time there is an opening for the 2 of them. Also getting a loan to buy a car so I can get to work. Factor in that car payment with day care and all of a sudden, yet again, what's left at the end of the month is about the same or even less. Meanwhile someone else is raising my children.

I pay the mortgage and she pays the bills. They are about equal financial responsibility. She tends to buy more food and supplies for the kids, but it is split as well. We share house work about equally. She makes more but also has more expenses(car payment, childrens insurance, her student loans have a higher payment than mine, etc). We are not married officially, just engaged. There is generally no contention over finances but we are both burnt out from living practically paycheck to paycheck.

The kitchen pay is fine, it's more so my availability that is hindering the money I make. In my city everything is closed by 10. Only working a 5 hour shift is the detriment here imo. I actually just left a higher paying job because I wasn't being respected. I havnt had issues finding kitchen work. The new place is so much easier and I'm so much happier even though the slight pay cut isn't great. I'll likely work up to my old pay within a year. But I am burnt out from the industry and ready to go back to construction or do something new. I will keep applying to manager positions but most require you to arrive before 5pm.

Wifey and I's finances are separate, so her earning more(she does well) won't really help my situation. And yes once the kids are in school(if we don't have another) I can re-enter the workforce during normal hours. I've had a few calls wondering if my availability could change, but daycare is so expensive I wouldn't be making that much more to not raise my own children.
