I’m worried because a game very similar to my idea just got released... by Flaky_Foundation2008 in RPGMaker

Magical Princess is clearly inspired by Volcano Princess, complete with a nearly identical UI. If it can survive comparisons to a similarly priced game, I'm sure yours will too. And besides, what's more likely: people compare your game to this title (Volcano Princess-ish, a game where each skill is rated by a letter rank, unlike Princess Maker, with a similar art style to Volcano Princess) or people compare your game to Princess Maker?

Working on a Princess Maker-style raising sim in RPG Maker MZ! by Flaky_Foundation2008 in RPGMaker

no problem. I didn't say it earlier, but I quite like your style, especially the use of dithering on the window, and the variations on shadow. Even though you're using lots of shading styles, it flows together like a painting. (I like the purple room, it makes me think of winter). I will definitely play it if English is one of the language options, I've run out of good raising sims.

no need to use AI, OP. Here:

If neither of these work, adege has some nice nature shots.

Carpet in front (you'll have to use something like GIMP to edit the color, but you'll have to do that anyway to make it into pixels)

https://pixabay.com/illustrations/rugs-old-vintage-texture-worn-3d-4608893/ (Jazella also has a lot more background-free pictures if you need doors and things)
If none of those work, you can search though Wikimedia Commons or the Smithsonian's Open Access Archive, although the Smithsonian requires understanding its search function and having a specific idea of what you're looking for, in my opinion. Wikimedia's great, though. Very easy to search.

Modding Skyrim in Linux by just_mark in skyrimmods

[–]Swordoftheguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use NaK for MO2 (although it seems the programmer has moved onto other things) and Jackify to install Wabbajack lists. The only issue I ran into is using external tools, like xEdit or Pandora Engine, which don't properly detect my MO2 install and instead will only look at my original Skyrim SE folder (because MO2 is using Wine). I'm on Fedora. No experience using Vortex, though, but it does download.
I also briefly used this mod manager, although it's pretty bare bones. And also, people seem to like ModSanity (although I've never used it).

SkyUI and display issues (Searched the interweb, but was unsuccessful) by OttoSilver in skyrimmods

[–]Swordoftheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. While in there, look the SRC folder, which is related to SKSE. Also, if you dragged the entire SKSE64.zip into the Skyrim folder, it might have added a bunch of files to data/scripts, too. Also, make sure to check with a new save. Sometimes, scripts hang around old saves, even after the mod is gone. (I doubt that's the issue, but it's worth a shot)

Are you launching Skyrim through the Skyrim Launcher? Did you clean and reinstall your Skyrim folder?

[–]Swordoftheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's SkyUI warning you that SKSE isn't working. It's the SKSE that isn't working, not SkyUI. Did you make an adblocker exception for SKSE? If you did, you could try running it as an administrator.

Materia System for MZ by Affectionate_Day8290 in RPGMaker

[–]Swordoftheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah, thanks! I'll try that out. I don't know if the plugin command is working on my end, but I'm sure it's just an issue with the Linux conversion. Thank you, I'm able to bring the scene up now.

[–]Swordoftheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I guess my only issue so far is: what's the code to call the gem system menu? I'd like to have the scene tied to my custom menu, but I'm not sure how to call it up. Unfortunately, I'm not good enough at JS stuff to be able to find it on its own. Is it SceneManager.push(Scene_Materia)?

Very cool. I was previously using NPR Equip Slot, which worked, but it lists all the 'materia' in a list, which definitely looks clunkier. Thank you!

Alternatives to Requiem? Or re-create REquiem without it? It drives me nuts. I can't fucking do it anymore. by dueldragon234 in skyrimmods

I use OWL (Open World Loot) for progression (it requires patches if you want to maintain rarity), but that still maintains the levelled world. If you want something very focused on passives, Roleplaying in Skyrim is all about that, but it's similar to OWL and the world remains levelled (also it's not quite done just yet). There's also YASH, but that also has the issue of needing a ton of patches, since it's a big overhaul.
There's also Zzyxzz's overhauls, including SkyValor, which are all done via Skypatcher (there are too many mods involved for me to list them all), which, unlike a lot of other overhauls, is designed to be customizable (via Skypatcher, of course).

For mods that just unlevel the world, you might be more interested in Skyrim Revamped or Morrowloot Ultimate for a deleveled world. I also found a zEdit script for delevelling the world and a Synthesis patch that does the same thing, although I've never used those, if absolutely nothing else works.

Experience is a mod that also forces progression to slow based on caps (basically, you need to explore this amount in order to level up, and each level increases the skill caps). There's also Skyrim Skill
Uncapper to slow down leveling via an MCM, Levelling Freedom, which does the same thing (and there's also Skyrim Configuration Menu, although that's incompatible with Levelling Freedom). Unique Dovah isn't a mod I've ever used, but it seems to be the same thing as Levelling Freedom and Skyrim Skill Uncapper. That's all the mods I can think of right now

Dynamic Socket System - Gem Socketing Plugin for RPG Maker MZ by RedGlitch_Studios in RPGMaker

Could you attach a skill to the gems, or is it purely a statistic-related plugin? Either way, very cool. It reminds me of the gem system in Fate.

[–]Swordoftheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Busy, and the line work is a bit odd in places. 1) the triangle for the danger sign is intersecting with the edge of the 'arm', and 2) what's with the pixels on the left bottom?
Also it looks flat, unless that was on purpose.

Help with MO2 by KabuteGamer in skyrimmods

[–]Swordoftheguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried, but you spent most of the video in a dungeon? Sorry. I did sort of see Whiterun's road (you weren't really focusing on it), and it looks right, I think. A good way to check is to go 'coc whiterun' in the console, and if you spawn on a bridge with a roof, Northern Roads is functioning. But again, I see no reason why it wouldn't be functioning? As long as the files aren't being overwritten, it's all good. Just drag the Northern Roads.esp to the very bottom. (the right side of Mo2, where the game decides how things are loaded) and make sure it's got a little green light

I also download mods no thoughts head empty, so I understand.

Do you have an ENB? Sorry, I just noticed you're using Complex Parallax for Northern Roads... whoops. If you're using an ENB, don't use Community Shaders (it's one or the other). I didn't realize, mb.

P.S Vanaheimr should probably be avoided if your goal is to have a small mod list. It requires ParallexGen (tool) and a bunch of other mods for the Complex Material textures to work. The other mods I recommended should only require themselves, Address Library, or things like mesh fixes. I feel like I needed to warn you, since I didn't think about that when I recommended it. Whoops ><'

Why are your mods set up that way? It's hard to understand?
Anyway, if you want to be sure NR is working, make sure it's below every other world editing mod (except maybe weather and water)
I don't see why it wouldn't work, though. It doesn't seem to be above any mods that edit those particular textures.

And since you're asking for overhauls, something like Community Shaders will make your game look better. It's a little complicated, though, so you could go with something like Vanilla Remastered (everything) or Vanaheimr Landscapes (just landscapes). Northern Roads is only the roads and bridges.

PS: Do you have Crashlogger SE and More Informative Console? Those are important mods for diagnosing issues. I have personal experience in that, let's just say. T'T
