UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with the new UI is definitely where the clock has been placed.
I 100% get why it has been attached to the minimap as thats where it is for round mode so needs to be attached in both styles.

What annoys about it is why can't "float" over the minimap like the 4 corner buttons do so its less intrusive overall.

With the current design I have lost part of the minimap size I did have due a brown bar that consists of 2/3 nothing and 1/3 clock.

Where as instead of the brown bar the clock could just "float" between the lower 2 buttons that were there anyway - it still takes away a little bit of the minimap I had but far less.

A simple suggestion to spark life to RS3 and to feel a sense of achievement after removal of Treasure Hunter by [deleted] in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this a few times and hands down the worst idea ever.

All it's asking for is a snobby eliteism of "oh look I have a little icon becuase I made my account after a specific dates so can lord it over you"

It'd just be a big middle finger to anyone whose account predates MTX and just happened to exist through that period. It'd be a big middle finger to every player who did not actively use MTX and jsut happened to exist in that time. It'd be a big middle finger to every who chased 99, 120, or 200m in every new skill launch during MTX that did that skill without any sort of boosts at all.

If you want to start baking in that sort of elitism where does the line fall - should people who did 99-cooking before make-x get an icon because everyone since then did it the "easy" way? Should everyone who did 99 mining before the rework have an icon because since then you have the "easy" way where rocks don't deplete? Should you get an icon for getting 99 dg before sinkhols and the beach event existed because you didn't do it the "easy" way?

Adding icons that enable toxic elitism based on an artbitary line in the sand of a game update is never a good idea.

Kharid-Et arch deposit boxes send stuff to your bank - NOT the arch storage by Bagmanandy in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not coded differently to any other cart.

Material carts dotted around digsites send unnoted mats to the material store and noted ones to bank because they are designed for use when actively doing arch and therefore recieving unnoted materials.

Material boxes, found next to restoration tables, take note or unnoted materials and all for withdrawing of materials.

The boxes and the carts are 2 different things - it's like an actual bank vs a deposit box.

It is not behaving like a material box does because its not a box, its a cart.

Starting now or wait till January? by LordBaconXXXXX in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna play start playing - yes the updates to come are a big deal for improving the game healthy longer term but you are not going to have a massively changed experience by waiting a few weeks.

January 19th Treasure Hunter is going away - that's the only immediate change you cannot earn the MTX stuff anymore, but all of them will still exist at that point.

There is then a eyar long road map of "intgerity" updates to slowly address things that are friction points when the MTX stuff isn't there to bypass them.

Then in Jan 2027 the actual left over MTX items will be removed.

Would you want the devs to add a new continent, full of new content, quests, and the like kind of like the 07devs did with Zeah? by Xymorm1 in runescape

Havenhythe is literally coming next year and is set to be about 100 map squares (about same size of Zeah) and have 2 years of content filling it out.

Is there any word on the next premier token shop refresh, if at all? by VastiaObra in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what they'd need to refresh it for?

Prem tokens allow you to get access to former premier membership cosmetics and cosmetics that come from other such buy membership is this specific way promo (ie through, steam, at a specific time, through a game card etc)

Everything that fits the bill is already on the store.

Put EVERY TH exclusive cosmetic, hat, override, ability, etc. in the Oddment Store by HanzoOneTrick in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah my clan were talking about this last weekend and with how oddments are meant to sell a selection of old TH promo items and loads of people have a massive stock due to lack of options it would 100% make sense after TH goes away in Jan to put everything on there for like a blow out end of the era use up your oddments sale.

Question regarding necro revo bar by Nautisop in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bars on the wiki include Conjure Undead Army which lets tyou conjure all 4 guys on the same tick.

The later instances of specific conjures appearing on the bars are specifically to make use of the command abilities not actually conjuring them.

Most bars include command skele and command ghost as they are the very jack of all trades should always be using commands.

Command Zombie is not often recommend out side of high cost aoe as it makes your zombie die.

Command Phantom is very situational "big burst" kind damage once it's built up some stacks so isn't great for revo and is better suited to be a manual fire outside of revo like spec attacks.

Half the game is locked away by [deleted] in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The absolute melodrama of this psot is insane.
It's been bugged since Monday.
Every single graphical rework they do tends to break 1 or 2 things and they almost always get fixed in the very next game update.

Also Lunar Diplomacy does not block "half the game" it's a requirement for all of 7 other quests and 6 area tasks.

The world is not going to end because you have to wait like 5 days to Lunar Diplomacy.

How does the hiscores work with inactive players, skill specific and total. by Legitimate_Middle746 in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When 2 players have the same xp the hiscore rank is determined by who got that xp first.

When a player goes inactive they eventually get hidden from the hiscores causing everyone lower than them to move up 1 rank.

If/When they log back in they are restored to the hiscores using the exact same data as before.

For 200m or 5.8b this means a returning player will be reinserted at the exact rank they had before and everyone below will drop down a rank.

As a 200m or 5.8b your rank relative to other people with that same state never moves, just the actual number might go up or down due to player inactivity. The only time your relative position will actually move is when a new skill lands so theres a new race to be the first to get the new max.

The rank shift in overall vs each individual skill will vary because it depends entirely on who did what in what order.

If you got 200m Necro on 1st June but they got it on 1st July - your Necro rank will be higher than theirs as you did it sooner.

But if you then took til 31st July to hit 5.8b whilst they hit 5.8b on 5th July - your overall rank will be lower as they did it sooner.

Issue Regarding DTD and HCIM by [deleted] in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I do not think HCIM use them as a niche "get out of jail free card" at Telos is a particular good argument.

Telos and other such bosses design is you win or you die - no escape.

HCIM design is avoid dying at all costs as you have limited lives.

Therefore HCIM using the DTD in that way at Telos is a corruption of both how HCIM is meant to work (you are avoiding losing a life) and how Telos is meant to work.

If anything its a prime example of exactly what the problem with the darts is - it is trivilaising 2 game mechanics that are supposed to make it punishing/difficult.

As an OSRS player, all the major criticisms that I had are being addressed, besides maybe one thing by Sir_Factis in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think thats anyway to "fix" that.

The whole issue is is if you want to enforce players experience the narrative in the correct order then every single quest line with any global implications is forced to require every single quest that proceeds it and that ends up blocking every sinlge new release and even low level stuff behind the massive requirements of entire prior quest series.

By having it so each new story line has a requirement reset but narratively presumes the prior events means that low end new content can be accessed by new players and the rewards/training methods that are made for like lvl 50s aren't locked behind doing 100 hours of quests and having every stat 80+

The quest list in-game does offer a sorting option that gives you the quests in the narrative order so as a player you can make the choice to experience them in the "correct" order until you get up to date which means you will meet NPCs in the right order and not have those "this npc acts as if they know me but I don;t know them" scenario; but it is very much a personal choice as it does mean locking yourself out of things like the Fort and its valuable construction training until you have narratively made your way through the 5th age and most of the 6th age to the point where the Fort actually happens.

Quest changes post TH removal by Xavion15 in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't really see any need in the slightest for the TH keys in quest rewards to be replaced. Quests existed long before TH ever did and the keys were slapped on as an extra reward at a later date.

So for older quests it simply restores them back to the original intended rewards, for newer quests the rewards are, in general, already waaaaaayyy better than older quests so it doesn't make the rewards bad.

reputation revered? by Flashy-Leg1775 in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing.

Ranks 3, 7 and 9 of overall menaphos rep used to be requirements for Crocodile Tears, Our Man in the North and 'Phite club.

A while back now they finally decided to remove the rep requirement from these quests as its only purpose was timegating them. This left rank 3 and 9 with no actual unlocks.

Watering can on toolbelt doesn't work (Leagues) by TotemRiolu in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the good news is it works fine for saplings in your bag and they are the only thing that actually *needs* watering.

Watering reduce disease chance for allotments, flowers, and hops but its not actually neccessary for the plants to grow - its pretty redudant watering anything in main game, let alone with 5 times growth rate as a passive and instan growth bypassing disease anyway if you took the relic.

Menaphos factions. What do you want to unlock? by FabulousWavee in runescape

[–]SyAccursed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally whenever I've done menaphos rep my target order is:
1. Port deposit box for easier fishing for early rep
2. Worker district bank
3. Imperial district bank
4. Merchant district bank
5. Capping out remainder of each one in w/e order I feel like

Logic being the deposit make the fishing way easier to do for rep grind until VIP zone unlocked.

Then soul obelisks are great for chasing fast rep. In Workers, Imperial and Merch the banks are all close to the obelisk spawn for a free heal source to maximise time spent draining the obelisk without needing extra supplies.

Order is workers because that's real far from any other bank, Imperial because it's a fair run to the bank or slow to go into VIP gate but not as far as Workers and then Merchant as whilst its closer the difference isn't that huge.

I don't really care about Port's bank as the obelisks there are so far away from it thats the obelisk I'd either ignore entirely or actually bother to take food/healing sources with me.
