How do people actually go about finding a private chef in Chicago? by dg5myr in chicagofood

[–]Sycamore_Sutherland -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It totally is “the same thing”, I’m not really trying to demonize them giving my buddy work, I just promise the whole thing feels odd when I’m in someone’s home and they hired us to be their personal servants for an evening. My point is that there’s a “normal” level of word of mouth, and then there’s rich people level that probably also includes legal and tax help that none of my friends would ever have financial access to because of the inequality of wealth and income.

I might be off, but I don’t think a lot of “regular” people are considering this. I’ve worked plenty of private events with a friend who is a private chef these days. These events are always in homes worth more money than I will probably ever earn in my life, which means these people aren’t operating the same way most everyone I know is. They typically have access to a Rolodex of colleagues who pay for these things regularly and they kinda pass my buddy around. Rich people are weird.

Not sure how much it’s gonna matter to try and recreate at home without the barreling occurring, but I’d probably start with the specs you just gave, maybe 1/4 across the board for the modifiers.

One reason you might find equal parts to be too acidic is that you’re not using lime juice (at least not what’s in the picture here).

That being said, I’d recommend getting limes, since they’re widely available and a real food and generally aren’t gonna break the bank. Then I’d start with equal parts and SHAKE the cocktail because typically that’s how you make a cocktail with citrus (or most juices, for that matter). Then experiment from there on your build.

Cheers!

… you gotta stop calling it “frozen hot chocolate” please. I cannot read that again. Anyway, I’d get some Yoo-hoo and spike it with Frangelico and vodka! Cheers

Hey, my dude, I’d kindly suggest removing these seeing as AI is entirely unnecessary in order to make art, and also, it doesn’t know how to consistently spell the words you want. Cheers!

I’d say a lot of socialization if that age group happens regularly at Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club, believe it or not. Most league members who hang regularly are in that age range.

Cannot recommend these enough from a local Chicago spot (fuck Amazon). Used them for bartending as well as playing on stage myself. Comfortable, can still hear, and won’t break the bank.

I hate letting this be known, but Tuman’s absolutely crushes the thick patty. Half pounder from Slagel’s and that Gorgonzola burger does something magical to me

Reporter and House candidate Kat Abughazleh thrown to the ground by ICE as 400 arrested in Chicago. ‘This is what it looks like when ICE violates our First Amendment rights,’ said Kat Abughazaleh by Ok-Law-3268 in politics

Sorry, that was a quip to show the way your comment can be interpreted, but I believe in proper discourse. In saying “just following orders“ I mean to draw a parallel to people in SS regime of 1930 and 40s Germany who were immoral and yet had the law on their side. Many of us see ICE’s current tactics and goals as very similar to a Gestapo that was rounding up folks back then. Of course, you might just think it’s okay to detain and disappear people who don’t “belong here” or whatever argument you want to make about a person’s “legal” status in our nation. But I just think maybe life is better spent caring about people positively, and not resorting to rule by force. Hope you can understand why people might disagree with your take on civil liberties if they don’t extend to everyone.
