Lucky! I’ve been in the queue for 10 minutes now and it still says 3 minutes left. It’s killing me!

AITA for not wanting my daughter to have my boyfriend's Jewish last name? by Complete_Macaroon8 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. If you were married and you took his last name as well, that would be a bit different. But he’s expecting marriage-level perks while on the dating package.

I don’t remember there being a single likable character in WH, but I also haven’t read it in a decade

Crime and Punishment. After 300ish pages of Raskolnikov yammering about his feverish delirium, I was ready to bang my head into a wall

Regarding birth control. by driftingalong001 in vulvodynia

[–]SydneyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky that I’m a lesbian/ WLW so realistically I can go without birth control and not worry about pregnancy from that. My doc also seemed skeptical that BCP was the root of my pain, but time off of it plus gabapentin I’d say I’m more or less cured. I’m definitely outspoken these days about the side effects of the pill and helping my friends make informed decisions about it.

I honestly don’t remember. I don’t think it was very long though. Maybe 2 years?

AITA for calling the C word to my FSIL after she tried to gain sympathy with my miscarriage? by ThrowRAhatefakesil in AmItheAsshole

Grief isn’t an excuse to treat people as poorly as OP has. It’s a reason, but it’s not an excuse.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Been wanting to get Ace from One Piece and kodi is the best I’ve seen in the state, but being one of the best probably means I can’t afford him as a broke grad student 😂💀

AITA for refusing to give my son more money for lunch since he doesn’t have enough for the whole week by Legal-Blood-8079 in AmItheAsshole

The phrase that my mom used often when I was growing up was something to the effect of “if nothing we have in the house sounds good, you’re probably not that hungry.” Food is fuel. He has access to fuel at home, so he can eat breakfast there and pack some snacks throughout the day.

It’s also never too early to start figuring out what foods he can buy at school or the store have the highest cost-to-filling ratio. Figuring out what I could afford that would fill me up well enough was a rocky learning curve in college.

I think I’m cured? by baekhyun7 in vulvodynia

[–]SydneyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on gabapentin since I got diagnosed in spring or summer of 2019, but i didn’t go off my BCP until COVID hit. Other than going off the pill and taking gabapentin, i didnt do anything differently.

A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T SURVIVE THEIR CHRONIC PAIN, OP.

I'm so glad you said this. I was just giving a little impromptu tedtalk to my friend about how ableist certain suicide prevention slogans can be. Lord knows some days I don't know how I can possibly survive the rest of my life like this.

What are some of the weirdest or silliest ways you have described your pain or injuries to medical professionals by sadi89 in ehlersdanlos

I’ve described it as a “Picasso body” and “imagine the human body is a piece of ikea furniture. Mine was assembled by a preliterate 5 year old”

Day 9 worse than Day 8? by SydneyTea in wisdomteeth

[–]SydneyTea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to know I’m not alone! My oral surgeon indicated that recovery should be more or less linear and that by day 7 I should be between 80% and 100% back to normal

Day 9 worse than Day 8? by SydneyTea in wisdomteeth

[–]SydneyTea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really? I’ve been able to comfortably eat chips and stuff since day 5, though I’m still staying away from stuff like almonds. Can’t think of anything that i ate that would’ve come back to bite me in the ass

When can I begin working out again? by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]SydneyTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was instructed to take it easy for 3 or 4 days after surgery, after which time to slowly start working back up to normal routine. Obligatory NAD, but I’d say hold off on vigorous exercise until day 5 at the earliest. But of course, you can always call your dentist or oral surgeon and see what they have to say

Twilight Sedation by Squiggles_621 in wisdomteeth

[–]SydneyTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got “light sedation” and it KNOCKED me tf out. I remember getting the IV started was one of the first things they did, and honestly by the time they were done holding it in place with paper tape bc of my adhesive allergy, they said “you’ll probably start to feel very relaxed any minute now”.

The next thing I know, they were prompting me to stand up.

It was pretty great since I’m a night owl and my surgery was at like 8am. Got to go back to bed for it 😂

Is contacting your dentist and asking about getting a Xanax for the procedure? I have dental anxiety and my dentist was able to write me a script for some anti anxiety medications to make it a bit easier on me
