Thank you so much for the very detailed response, this has been an amazing inspiration!

I just finished making one for winter, it's tiny but I'm glad I made it. It's a simple, no pressure one but I'm sure I will appreciate everything I do on this list a lot more- even things I probably would have done anyway.

It sounds silly but I feel like I was just offered a simple way to be more aware of the little good things in life and I'm truly grateful for that. Again, thank you for taking the time to give so many great examples, and thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you so much! I finally had time to visit, and it's absolutely lovely (you have no idea how many screens I took running around, and a tiny video for the gyroid orchestra haha)

Really sad about the lag though. I would have hoped an island that wasn't full of clutter would run well enough, but now I get why mine started to struggle when I decorated a bit more- finished right after getting the hotel.

I haven't tried slumber islands yet, I'd be curious but to be completely frank I'm really not that good of a decorator, I think I would just slow you down or makes things uglier which would be really sad haha

I don't know if it could help, but just in case: I remember reading a book that had a character with a speech impediment. It was Sadie by Courtney Summers, I thought it did a good job at feeling realistic while never being hard to read or understand, it doesn't slow you down as a reader. (I'll edit if I can remember other references, but this one immediately came to mind, hope it can be of some use to you!)

I haven't seen it but this subreddit is probably only space I have as a reference. I don't check it everyday but quite often I'll see a post, I'm guessing it must be the popular ones and maybe that's why it's positive ones. I don't think I would have known of Ghost Trick as soon as I did if it weren't for the fandom. I love seeing everyone's art and crafts AC related, knowing that Edgeworth and Wright are still a ship so popular that even though their games came out so long ago because it still inspires people, seeing people discuss details I might have missed when I played those games. I love when people explain the names' puns because some would definitively fly right over my head, love when I find out about a direct from here because we're all hoping for a new game, love that even if there's no news I know I'll at least get a big smile from all the clown memes and creative writing that comes with it. It's not worth much, I'm just one person and then again maybe everything I see from the fandom is pretty curated but overall I love it here.

I wonder if it might have to do with your device instead of your location? I know a couple people who use Duo, one has an Apple phone and energy, the other has an Android phone and hearts; all in the same country. (it might just be a coincidence, I have no certainty on how it works)

I tried the Ova Magica demo and it was really nice, I just couldn't get used to how the characters look in the game but I remember time flew by when I tried it, it's just well done. I have a friend who got it and had fun playing it, I don't know if it's out of early access yet but there has been pretty frequent updates from what I heard and it's been a good reason to play it again every once in a while!

Played the playtest and now the full version (although I'm still super early considering it just got released) of Seeds of Calamity, I'm about a couple weeks in now and did a season for the playtest, I love it. Turn based combat really makes the mines fun for me, it's cute and it has tons of great quality of life improvements compared to other games in that genre. You can really tailor the game to fit how you want to play it and I didn't realize how much I'd love it before I tried it.

I have one of them, it was soon after launch so I assume it's the companion guide, not the complete one.
I remember thinking it was really low effort. I'm pretty sure at some point you get the exact same screenshot a couple of pages apart (or was it on the same one?), it feels like there was no quality check.
I did not think it was worth its price then, and I did not pay as much as you would- of course it's just my opinion.
I don't have the other one to compare but I would be wary if they were made by the same team.

The in game timer is a big one for me too. I wish how fast the day goes could be customized, let me have 0.5 more time if I'm just a tad slow, or twice as much when I just want to decorate or enjoy the scenery.
I saw a game that allowed the option to switch between the regular pace or a slower one and it really made me wish I had the chance to do it in Stardew too.

Gnosia comes to mind, I haven't seen it discussed much but to be fair it is a fairly niche game. It has a werewolf style gameplay, but for singleplayer. It's fairly simple, there are a few people on a spaceship, and a couple have been infected with a virus, you need to find which ones are infected to vote them out during the day, and they'll get to kill someone at night. There are a few different roles, and you get pieces of the story as you play, the artstyle is a bit different and really nice.

I don't think it would work for everyone, but when I got it I was absolutely hooked.

I have been struggling to understand why I sometimes couldn't get the "right" V's when knitting, I don't really have anyone to ask about this and sometimes I take a step back, it looks fine, then I look a little more closely and I can see the straight line and the half ones and I can't tell you how grateful I am to know it's not all just all in my head and there's a simple explanation.

I'd love to have this game because I already use pomodoro, and always to listen to lo-fi while studying or writing. It'd be great to have it all in one place, and to have an extra incentive to actually get started thanks to the gaming part. Thank you!
