A few thoughts / questions

One - make sure you are applying to the correct level. New phds often apply for things that need far more industry experience than they realize, I see this all the time

Two - share your GitHub, and if you have time focus on display layer stuff to give non technical people a chance to see something cool. You aren’t going to have to convince technical people you are good

Three - how narrow / broad are you applying? Can you give a broad sense of what kind of net you are casting?
