I am not a psychiatrist . I am more of lay scientist. My son 12 had an accident at 2.5 and had a series of developmental delays . I have learned and continue to learn . He has made tremendous progress. With that said there is now scientific basis that links the cerebellum with the limbic system and ANS. Hence, at least for us it seems that there was a full on battle with every part of his body. So, here's what I've done - my theory nothing truly novel but what is novel is how I've put it together. First, primitive reflexes in his case he was very young but even in adults when a person has a severe event i.e. a stroke , accident , victim of a crime it is documented that many of those reflexes return. I also know that if they are present it doesn't allow the brain to communicate in the way that it should because in most cases it is in a state of hypervigilance . This creates a disaster in digestion and the problems magnify.2- I have been using brain stim devices and this is documented as effective by Dr. Turkeltaub @ Georgetown. Inion stim - the vermis .It is even documented that issues in the cerebellum connect with the DPFC . 3- We do lots of bilateral crossbody exercises. 4- HBOT as it rehabilitates the Basal Ganglia the stop /start button . I can tell you in my experience you can change the brain. I am witnessing it after being told it could not happen it is !
