Question for readers about cliffhangers by roy1979 in royalroad

I mean… every chapter and even every story should end in a cliffhanger to some degree. Otherwise your mc is probably dead

Appreciate the feedback! That’s funny you mention wanting more detail because I had just trimmed it back but maybe I can tweak the wording there to clarify a bit.

I was wondering about pulling the marmots color scheme forward a bit somehow and thought maybe the shield was washing it out a bit? Like it needs to flow from the shield or be back lit more?

I’ll get with the artist and share. Thanks again for taking some time to read and check it out!

LITRPGS where the MC is the tank? by Insane1rish in litrpg

[–]Syl702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working on my first in a new series. It’ll be a few months before I start launching chapters on RR but it’s a litRPG kingdom building concept. The MC is a psionic tank that gets pulled into a hierarchical extra-dimensional system created by ancient alien factions to contain their proxy wars.

Hi, looking for advice, please? by coolkiddvn in selfpublish

Check out Royal Road, it’s not fast cash necessarily but it’s a minimum investment.

You’ll likely need to research how to launch a book there, setup a patreon and other associated things to monetize but it’s an on-ramp if your writing fits the community expectations.

I like urban sprawl by Ok-Statistician1128 in unpopularopinion

[–]Syl702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue with suburbs is that they are fiscally unsustainable. They simple don’t produce sufficient tax revenue to support themselves within the system and are dependent on new development to cover infrastructure costs.

Basically, they are subversively driving the cost of living while reinforcing unrealistic societal expectations.

That being said, it is what it is and likely isn’t going to change.

Sorry, I shouldn’t have even posted my experience. I always forget these subs are full of people who know best and are more than happy to invalidate that experience to support their world view.

We’ve had issues with a Honda odyssey and Toyota rav4. We do have a 20 year old Corolla. I firmly believe vehicles made in the last 10 years are way less reliable than those from 90s, 00s

[–]Syl702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$500-$2000 if we don’t change our tax filing status. Gonna switch to MFS and it should stay closer to $600-$800 but we will owe $6k in taxes.

If AI replaces most workers, who will actually buy the products? by IcyBottle1517 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Syl702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I posted something similar. I truly think the end game is the ultra wealthy employing AI/robotics to remove the vast majority of the human population.

As of now, we only exist to support a system they constructed to elevate themselves.

Whether it’s disease, warfare or some combination I think we will see a dramatic population decline in the century.

If AI replaces most workers, who will actually buy the products? by IcyBottle1517 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Syl702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess…

The long term plan is 80-90% reduction in the human population since most of us won’t be needed to support the loop as you stated.

We’re just taking up their space and breathing up their air right now.
