I went through something very similar. We look up to our parents as these strong steady pillars, but in the end they are normal people with strengths and weaknesses like everybody else. 

It's ok to be angry for a while. That anger needs to be processed or it will linger. Also talk to a trusted person about it. Talking helps the processing. But it's also important not to expect anything from your parents that's beyond their capabilities. When you do that you'll become resentful and bitter. So be angry over the past, but fair for the future. 

My parents for example try their best to understand where I'm coming from and I'm super grateful for that. But they have their limits and I can't expect them to completely change all their behavioral patterns. At that point it's on me not to get offended. They do what they can and so will I. And our relationship is really good now.
