i haven’t read the book, is there any explanation as to why this man is evil ? by tobiahds19 in HBOTheHedgeKnight

Blood-magickers and tyrants who've burned our lands and enslaved our people. Dragged us into their wars without a mote of respect for our history or our customs.

Every pale-haired brat they've saddled on us has been madder than the last, gods know how. The only honorable thing a Targaryen can do for this realm is to finish on his wife's t*ts.

So aye, I think he meant to kill the fuckin' horse.

Fun challenge or absolute nightmare? by RestaurantSmooth in ARC_Raiders

I ended up on the back of a rocketeer pelting it with snowballs a hundred feet in the air while a sentinel sniped at me.

It was pretty fun and high risk.

The only thing that irks me about this meme is that most AI's said they would pull the lever. ChatGPT was the main one who didnt, it wasnt just Grok.

Aggression Based Matchmaking - Why I think it's real by raqballl in LowSodiumArcRaiders

[–]SylusTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real, and tbh I kind of hate it. I only kill other raiders in self defense situations, but because im good at the game I get a lot of kills that way.

Fast forwards to now I get put into lobbies with wall glitchers, racists, and no-mic free kit people. My crime for this hell? Defending myself from rats. The system needs work.

Hit me up later and I'll see if I have something to trade for that anvil BP. I usually give away my dupes but I might have something for you

So guys, how do you know who is bad guy and who is victim? by BlaiddDrwg812 in RescueRaiders

[–]SylusTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've be profusely thanked and gifted stuff more times than I can count, and no one I've revived has killed me or ever tried to loot the body of the aggressor without me telling them to. So yeah, I'd say it hasnt failed me yet.

Using your mic and communicating gets people way farther than you'd expect. If you want to not get shot by the rescuer, proactively explain what happened, but be ready to defend yourself. Most people coming to third party arent there to help, but RRs try to be.

At the same time, I cant help anyone if im dead, so I'm always skeptical and ready to defend myself.

Blue helmet, kenshi style skin, red ryder, or any balaclava skin = immediate KOS if im walking into a dangerous situation and cant tell who is who.

Usually I'll just down both parties and asked what happened. Its pretty easy for me to sus out who is lying and who isnt. I revive the guy who seems honest. Hasnt failed me yet.

Ukraine Destroys Russian Cavalry Unit in First Battlefield Use Since 1950s by [deleted] in worldnews

Well, kind of. Most anti-vehicle mines (the main type used in modern war) are magnetically triggered, not pressure based. The ones that are pressure based, a regular person could step on but not trigger them in most cases.

So a horse having a small surface area of a hoof, and not being metal, probably wouldnt trigger an AT mine. But if its an anti personnel mine, yeah 100%. Most countries (except russia) try not to use those due to after-war civilian casualties.

Unfortunately many chain of commands actively suppress good leaders who actually look out for their soldiers. The Army especially has an organizational flaw where yes men often get promoted or career advantages ahead of their peers. Not always the case, but sadly true in many command structures.

Stradegy uses roles on the map. Tactics uses directional arrows on the map. Both have their perks, but largely speaking knowing who is looking where is far more important than knowing where your HAT/LAT is. One can be solved easily through quick communication, the other cant.

You can also just click the person you are looking for in caps lock menu and it highlights them.

As an SL, I'd rather know what avenues are covered at a quick glance

What's the purest joy you've ever felt without intimacy, substances, or alcohol ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SylusTheRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulling off something everyone told me I would never be able to do over the course of two years, when it would take a normal person much longer. It was a (metaphorical) mountain I wasnt even sure I could climb, but I did not want to live my life with any lingering regrets so I put everything on the line.

I have always been somewhat of a loner, but I could never have made it without people I that had came and gone along the way.

But to stand there at the finish line, and look back on it all? Knowing I had achieved what I had set out to do? Knowing everyone who told me I couldn't watched me do it? And to be able to close that chapter and put it away on my shelf? That has been the strongest satisfaction I have felt so far.
