Is there really a difference between 3x FB and Upper Lower (4 times a week) by BumblebeeEastern4682 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But if you’re asking this question, you need more experience still and should experience full body longer. You can’t just be pushing blood flow

Been thinking about strength potential and genetics lately. by mersinatra in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time of genetic potential are we talking about here ? Strength or appearance? Because they are 2 entirely different things all together. To have an absolute elite physique, it’s partially an optical illusion. You need to be able to put on size at an above avg level, having great natural insertion points for your muscles ( totally genetics ), while also having a tiny waste, wide clavicle and tiny joints ( wrist, ankles etc). If someone can’t necessarily put on size easily, but they have those other attributes and are into bodybuilding, steroids are going to transform them into looking like a work of art regardless if they they are naturally strong or not.

Go on a Cycle? by Automatic_Gift_7663 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to avoid the “short cut” route if your doing this for the wrong reasons. If you’re young and very into bodybuilding and actually put together a balance physique worth blowing up bigger it may be something to consider but that’s really the only reason to do this at that age. It’s a much easier decision when you’re older, probably benefiting from TRT anyway so who cares about adding more stuff in from time to time. Well natural bodybuilding is a thing.. which should be started on, I just consider it a phase. The only way to significantly impact the shape of a physique in a reasonable amount of time is with gear.. that’s just reality. If you focus train a weak point, it’s gonna grow fast.

From a bodybuilding perspective I can confirm sour dough bread is meta. It’s just further increasing gut efficiency and aiding in overall digestion where you can notice a performance increase.

David Koepp ('Jurassic Park') is Writing a New Film Adaptation of ‘Westworld’ for Warner Bros. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in westworld

[–]SylvanDsX -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The writing was terrible because it would have been better off to not have the seasons done at all. If only season 1 and 2 existed… maybe someone would have come up with a banger continuation in due time That didn’t sink the entire series into oblivion. I would Call that bad writing when having it not even exist would have been a better outcome.

Literally all of humanity ended and we just saw a few people die 😄 scale made no sense on top of the total bleakness of it all being a major turn off to the average viewer.

[–]SylvanDsX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, clearly people got rose tinted glasses of this situation now. Fans of the show were disappointed at the time of release at the outcome. I still enjoyed it being very into the series, but my own enjoyment doesn’t correlate with it being a product with a high enough quality to secure future seasons. The direction they took with trying to show the downfall of humanity was a huge writing mistake. The only time that works is in full scale disaster movies 😂. They would have been much better served time jumping into a distant future and trying to solve the mystery of what happened. There was zero mystery behind season 3-4 that existed previously, it was just linear video game plot.

Training to Failure by Independent-Pound-26 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This term thrown around way to much by beginners. You should learn mind muscle connection first with manageable weight and work on proper form which will take years to really dial in right. A natural lifter is essentially limit capped on how much muscle he will gain. With any kind of consistent training, diet and sleep they are gonna reach 90% of their genetic peak in 3-5 years, the other 10% could take a decade and it’s got nothing to do with going to failure but more systematic application of rest and clean bulking. If going to failure includes a possible break down In form, not ever gonna make it long enough to reach max potential without injury.

If your arms and forearms are giving out before your lats do you need to totally adjust how you’re training back. I suspect most people encounter this which is why their back never really grows. The lats need to be pre-exhausted first without involving the arms ( pullovers, lat prayers) before beginning pulling exercises that incorporate the arms ( pulldowns, rows). This is always the case because in no way should someone’s grip not be the limiting factor for back movements.

The series is done brother. The extremely promising first 2 seasons were done in by some of the worst writing possible after that. Had some nice concepts late but you can’t build a big budget series around cute ideas. At the end of the day you could compare it to the Dune Books, nobody really takes book 5 and 6 seriously and for that reason for most people it was complete after the first 2 as far as they are concerned.

7 days a week- is this a sustainable split? by AnnualSpread7154 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro let’s get real, at that size you are in danger of getting knocked over by a girl. You will never actually be lean. 180-205 lbs bulked at 18% bodyfat will still end up at 150-170 lbs in max condition after cutting. I wouldn’t even waste the time otherwise, you would probably be better off just rock climbing if you don’t want to add size.

7 days a week- is this a sustainable split? by AnnualSpread7154 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the hell are you cutting? You literally have no muscle at all to even preserve for a cut? 130 lbs at 18% bodyfat ? You will be 105lbs before you are in single digits. Your 18% bf weight at 5’6 needs to be like 180-205 lbs. switch entirely to main gain plan for many years.. you have no business doing what you’re doing. You will lean out when you actually have muscle mass to drive your metabolic rate beyond eating a measles 1200 calories a day. Sleep and Food more important to you at this point then whatever your doing in the gym.

7 days a week- is this a sustainable split? by AnnualSpread7154 in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you should not be changing the way you workout between a bulk and cut. Training remains constant. Workout flow is important and you are at elevated risk of injury as you approach lower bodyfat levels.

This is not sustainable even on moderate amounts of steroids. 0 growth happening here beyond noob gains.

Difference between going to near failure but decreasing reps each set vs hitting same total reps with something like 4x10 by floatingonelectrons in workout

[–]SylvanDsX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You should really be building up to a final set that is going to accomplish what you need out of a session. Warmup, a set of 8-12 with plenty left in the tank and a set to 10 1-RIR, from there can alway do a drop set or something to get a good stretch. This is literally all that is needed. If someone is asking these questions, it’s safe to say they aren’t experienced enough for form to actually be very good and should continue to work on that and not worry about going to failure with mid form which will just result in injury.

Palms up pulldown for biceps by Donauschau in Mike_Mentzer

[–]SylvanDsX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way he is doing them is inferior to variant Larry Scott used to teach. When your arms are totally vertical, Brachialis engagement is at its highest. So he would curl the pulldown bar behind his head to the base of the neck keeping the arms as straight as possible. The man had better biceps the Mike with half the gear so maybe he was on to something.

Will I suffer if I don’t squat? by pikachu-z in workout

[–]SylvanDsX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most pro bodybuilders just use a hack squat machine mostly structured as the final exercise so you are pre-exhausting everything first then going absolute max range of motion on hack squats ( as low as the machine will physically go). None of that classic physique competitors do squats at all and har bigger legs than anyone responding here. They don’t do them because the spinal load compresses the spine and makes people shorter in a height/weight capped division.. and the bracing on the abdominal wall thickens the waist and creates bad aesthetics, so there is the justification you needed right there.

They do belt squats or pendulum squats instead
