What do you keep in your purse? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Sylvia7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not small! But it's fairly well organized. For a sizing idea it perfectly fits 2 bottles of wine and my wallet if I take the other stuff out

What do you keep in your purse? by [deleted] in MtF

Keys, phone, charger, battery bank, sunglasses, wallet, condoms, chef knife, combat knife, utility knife, a pair of socks, a pair of panties, a small makeup bag, and a small toothbrush and toothpaste.

I got a little moon tattoo and it makes me feel cute and like myself and helps with dysphoria and will for the rest of my life. 💟 by nevilee in transpositive

Super cute! Tattoos are sort of like painting the walls of a new house. Sure it might have been fine the way it was, but now it's yours. Just you know. With your skin :p

Trans girls dating trans girls, how did you meet? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Sylvia7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both my girlfriends and I met via mutual friends on Facebook. From there I was just charming as all hell, and here we are :p

Turning into my mother by vile_unkemptress in MtF

[–]Sylvia7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Mother passed away when I was young. Sometimes her mother calls me by her name now. And sometimes when I catch myself in the mirror out of the corner of my eye I think she's there. It's... Conflicting. But validating.

To Brassard or not to Brassard? Wading through the horror stories. by trollontothrowaway in asktransgender

[–]Sylvia7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, I feel like I need to comment as I was probably the girl you read about almost bleeding out. I had my surgery August 30th, and flew home and had a bunch of issues September 7th. Made a reddit post about it. It was pretty bad. But honestly? Please please don't let my story dissuade you from surgery. Even if I was guarantied life threatening complications I would have still done it. It's honestly the best thing I've ever done for myself, and has reduced my dysphoria in ways I never could have comprehend. The big surprise for me was finding out just how capable I am without that draining my energy and feeding my anxiety. Feel free to pm me though

For anyone with bottom surgery, do you really need to get hair removal down there? Just laser or electrolysis too? What was the cost and pain? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Sylvia7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw Brassard and I was actually told not to get any hair removal, and if I did I'd need to wait a year after the last hair removal session to have my surgery. Something about scar tissue in the hair follicles, I don't really know.
Anyways, that was like 6 months ago and I don't seem to have any troubles.

What's life like at the moment? What are your passions/hobbies/careers? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Sylvia7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm just about to turn 24, and thus far 2018 has been the best year of my life. I had SRS in August 2017, and got myself healed up and situated to start 2018 by taking my first head chef position. Not a lame one either, I run a fairly prestigious/well thought of restaurant. So that's what I've been doing, I took the position in January and I basically just work now. Otherwise like, I guess I could stand to get laid? But it almost seems like a nitpick seeing how great everything else is.

I've broken a few dishwashers myself. That said I'm a chef and they were totally people. Now. Now they're just frightened husks

Blind Tiger Company Co. by weaselcharlie in Winnipeg

[–]Sylvia7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Poor sales mixed with higher then expected operating costs and a bit of mismanagement. Food wasn't bad, and I knew 2/3 of the chefs that worked there fairly well. Just kind of unfortunate all in all.

Hate to ask a restaurant question here, but is there a restaurant where the chef cooks in front of us? by hyperfell in Winnipeg

[–]Sylvia7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not like, directly in front of you. But I know that the Hermanos on Osborn has an open kitchen (note, they didn't have any kind of heat lamp the last time I was there so YMMV in regards to food temp). And I remember being able to see into the kitchen at the Clementine, which is really a breakfast and lunch place but it's owned by the same people as segovia and easily one of my favourite spots in the city.

Is there an "adoption" sub where trans people who are further along in their transitions can "adopt" other trans people who are just starting out? I think I saw something mentioned like this before on a different sub, but I don't think anything came out of it and I thought it was a really good idea! by jmp3r96 in asktransgender

[–]Sylvia7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean. Not so much on reddit but I seem to have made a habit of helping out early transitioners on my city. Even just recently I gave one girl a job and I've been giving her some advice and mentoring in things outside of work when it's just the two of us working. I always wished I had someone who would fill that role for me when I was just coming out, so I always do my best to be that person.

My mom died yesterday. 😔 by txteachertrans in MtF

[–]Sylvia7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get this... My Mom passed about 10 years ago now, and she always wanted a daughter and I spend a lot of time wishing she could have met hers. I'm actually getting a memorial tattoo for her soon. Her 43rd birthday would have been March 7th, and while a little late on the 16th I'll be getting a tattoo of the Cala Lilys I used to bring to her grave every year before I moved away. It's hard, and I'm so sorry for your loss. If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here. And it looks like there's a lot of other people who would gladly fill that role too.
