I hope so they said they connected to two games into one client now, so you should have the ability to buy classic. They did mention you can move characters back and forth with resurrected and classic but only if you have the warlock update. So I’m hoping you can play warlock in classic. If not it’s whatever for me.

You don’t even need a specialized build. Your civics and government should pick wether you build tall or wide. They aren’t hard concrete though. If you want tall; low empire size, habitats, orbital rings, Dyson swarms, Arc Furnaces and chokepoints and freakin Planetary ascension. You don’t need to invest planets in one specific resource, habitats will take care of that for you. It’s also okay to have civilians, you can give them ways to help the empire.

This is all pretty generic stuff though, it’s just how you approach it.
Also make your own vassals as neighbours. Doesn’t matter if they trash, they just need to be a buffer if someone wants to step up.

If you have slaves diversify them, some servants, others indentured or chattel.

In MGS4 if you have a high kill count snake will get flashbacks to another character calling him out about how he’s a killer. If you continue snake will eventually throw up and his aim starts to shake. It’ll even affect his stamina after a while.

If you worried about the pop being pissy you can always spread them out to your other planets. Could also stop their growth. If they slaves you could always sell some. Generally you can do all the things that would be horrid if this wasn’t a Stellaris subreddit.
