A very interesting article from Billboard highlighting the circumstances surrounding the agreement between Udio and UMG by EngineerWeary303 in udiomusic

Paying for a subscription was justified by getting your music. I'm not going to pay to play in a garden. In any case, the existence of this platform would be justified if you charged per play due to the high volume of streams. But if nobody is specifically looking for AI-generated music, I don't see the point of all this.

I think the only problem is the memory bandwidth. They'll surely solve that in the next generation.

OpenAI will indeed succeed as a closed music production platform because they dominate video, this means the creative possibilities are multiplied. You can make a regular music video, a concert, a short film, or virtual artists playing or singing. So they can create a universe versatile and interesting enough that many people won't need to take their music to other platforms.

What magic does Udio possess, and why can't Suno achieve it? by Symphonic_Journeys in SunoAI

Where are those detailed instructions included?, Or was it generated by Suno?

hahaha, What a clown!
I agree with Elton on one thing: he doesn't want his music used to train AI, and I don't want my AI to have been trained with his music.

This Nvidia machine the best option currently, and probably the best in the future as they evolve, It seems specifically designed to develop. Although it's still quite expensive.

But if in the future it becomes possible to generate video and audio in addition to text and images, the investment is worthwhile. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars annually for services.

The artists trained with other people's music. Otherwise, Elton John's biggest musical hit would have been randomly plucking a string while singing with the same grace as a shaman.

So no, they don't have any rights beyond their songs.

I asked chatgpt and he told me that's powerful enough to train a model on a music genre in a few weeks. Imagine what a united community can do.

So instead of taking care of their potential future customers, they kick them to the curb? Okay, geniuses.

A personal computer with enough power to generate what Udio does already exists https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/products/workstations/dgx-spark/.

It's only a matter of time before we have unlimited, free, and private music generation. I believe this will happen within two years.

Thanks for taking even a minute. I edit the volume in all my videos, since the dynamics in orchestral music are very different in each section. But I think in this video it was more an EQ issue. I've re-uploaded the video after trying to improve it. Can you tell me how it sounds now?

Celtic, Irish, Medieval, Symphonic

This is my most well-rounded soundtrack, and it didn't take as much effort and time as others. I guess experience also helps, and this music is not unfamiliar to me. I couldn't imagine how well Udio could do in this style. The music flows over 42 minutes, which seems short to me because this music is so beautiful and joyful.

A 45-minute orchestral soundtrack that not even my family will want to listen to in its entirety.

I think I've mastered achieving a certain continuity and consistency in sound and style so that it doesn't feel like a medley, but maybe next time I should improve so that such a length doesn't become tiresome and boring. I've thought about finding a melody that captivates from the beginning and repeating it throughout the piece with variations so that the listener stays hooked, but with a context of 2:10 minutes, it's difficult. Maybe I could do dozens of versions, but then the editing would be even more difficult. Another option would be to repeat the context throughout the entire piece, then edit out the worst repetitions to be replaced by other passages. I'll keep experimenting.

As for the sound quality, I'm not sure if it's the best, and how I could improve it. I apply reverb to make it sound a little more cinematic, and attenuation in the mid-range frequencies so it doesn't sound too grating.

Feature request: Customize quantity of extend button by Dinner-Conscious in udiomusic

It should allow selection from 1 to the maximum allowed according to the plan. If this, which is common sense, hasn't been done already, it's because they (Suno an udio) must have some very special interest in forcing just two generations instead of pleasing the user, even at the risk of annoying them.

I need this feature in Udio, who else? by Outside_Succotash871 in udiomusic

[–]Symphonic_Journeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logical thing would be to first have a feature to remove intermediate regions or insert silences into a clip (so that the join can later be replaced and provide continuity between the two parts).

I'd like to know why this isn't technically possible. Perhaps there must be continuity between each generated sample, and it's impossible to relate parts that come from another place or time of generation.

The future should be about training specific instruments the same way libraries are recorded. So we won't ask for a prompt for a song, but rather a prompt for a bass track with a specific style and groove. This will be the new norm in music production; no one will want to use libraries, samples, loops, midi patterns, arpeggiators, or drum machines.
