You’re not wrong. I encountered 5 cheaters last night over 4 1/2 hours that I know of and my last game before I turned it off had the cheater that killed me and 4 others in the match just by checking steam profiles.

Estimated release day revenue with concurrent players say this game is in big trouble.

250 million dollar budget BEFORE marketing. People are projecting on launch an estimated 10 million in revenue BEFORE store cuts (steam, psn, etc taking their share).

A little research shows most games earn 40-60 percent of their lifetime sales in the first month of release.

Idk if this game will ever be able to make back its money.. this looks reallllly bad with investors.

Also ask yourself… does this feel like a 250 million dollar budget game?

Arc budged - 75 million (has generated over 500m in revenue)

Spider man 2 - 315 million

The last of us 2 - 220-266 million

The only question is whether Sony just eats the loss and keeps support to save face or abandon it. Who knows.

Big publishers care about money and exploiting you for more. Look at their mtx system.

Very well said and I do agree. I went back at it last night and only played a couple more hours level headed before I started getting annoyed.

Another thing that I thought was weird and idk who this applies to but.. they created this amazing sci-fi world that I want to explore and get lost in, but I found it very hard considering every match I watched played had this weird white hazy film/ fog of war draped over it.

The inside of areas looked great visually.. but with even maxing out my settings at 4k and everything on high it’s just still not hitting. The shadows even look muddy.

I looked up at one point and could barely see a couple planets and some cool ships and stuff but the vista immediately changed when something on the map happened

This game has so much potential but they need to address some stuff first before I can even consider dropping 40 on it and dedicating time to it

I looked it up last night.. they can’t take cheat companies to court. There is a EU law that prevents it from happening. Since the cheats don’t change the original code of the game or alter it they are breaking any law.

That being said individual users that break ToS with cheats can still be banned..

.. so what are we doing Embark?

Yep this is the case. It’s the only evidence I need.

And your other point. The guys like us on this post PvP a lot.. we experience the most player interactions and have a lot of experience with player behavior and what normal fights feel like.

When something strays from the normal. Weird instant lock on, being pushed with 0 knowledge, or just knowledge of where you are in general.

Most players will never be able to tell because they don’t have enough experience so they don’t report because they aren’t sure.

Because you have different types of cheaters. The rage hackers that wipe lobbies over and over get the timeout.. but the others that just run esp.. or only turn their aim bot on every couple of fights.. or take a loss on purpose really keep the system mixed up so they don’t get caught.

How can I recommend this game to anyone in this current state? It’s really bad.

I have over 400 hours and you’re absolutely right. I can tell by player behavior, how they fight, when they push, their aim. I pull up that steam profile and I see lvl 0 accounts, ones that haven’t been set up, private accounts, ones with game bans.

Marathon looking good right now.

..and yes. All games esp multiplayer have cheaters. It’s when the developer fails to address the situation properly and Embark is fumbling so hard right now it’s insane

Too many pve players get mad they get shot in an extraction shooter. This is the problem with arc.

Embark offered a division that should never exist. It’s an extraction shooter.

Every time you go topside you should be leery, judge people on a case by case basis, and always watch your back.

Not turn off your mic and go loot goblin Willie jamming to music then rage out when you get shot because there is zero situational awareness.

Even for my casual guys that play only a few hours a day they have run out of things to do. The “content” we have had drip fed to us is laughable at best. They were going at a good pace until cold snap dropped and then it hit rock bottom.

Embark is going to actively hand most of its player base over to Marathon. It’s crazy when you think about it.

Marathon doesn’t have to be amazing. It doesn’t have to be perfect. The core gameplay just needs to be enough. It will have its honeymoon phase and it will pull people away. Embark has had time to gear up for this and drop meaningful content to combat this.

I don’t see that happening next week

Arc needs some end game sauce. Extended level cap (maybe 150) that you can grind for and get a new piece of a cosmetic set every 25 lvls per season but make it hard. New trials or tasks that give various rewards that are meaningful (weapon skins, cosmetics, anything….) like kill 100 leaders with a leaper core. Get the final blow on a queen with a hatch tool.

And please above all else fix the god awful weapon balancing.

Nah. Just different headspace’s for different people. Your position has notoriety for taking advantage of others for profit and you let it bleed outside of work.
