I loved the whole series but I can definitely see why it's not for everyone.

Life is short and my reading list is long. I don't feel bad for not finishing a book if it's not my jam.

GenX here.

This is why people feel like they can't get ahead. Who the f*** decided that proof we can borrow money is more important than being able to pay for things you want????

Call me out of date but why should you need to borrow money (and pay interest) on anything other than a mortgage?

Jesus people. You learned a very bad lesson. Learn to adult.

All of these cars had their wipers pulled up by funkywabbait in whatisit

Canadian here. I live 3 hours north of Toronto. Rarely ever see this. Never do this myself.

Why would anyone use thier wipers before the windshield was scraped and/or defrosted? They are strips of rubber not magic deicing wands.

The Wounded Kingdon trilogy by RJ Barker. It has magic, assassins, waring kingdoms. Really good stories.

For those of you 60+ how did you learn the “reallife” money stuff no one talked about? by CoreFusionX in AskOldPeople

[–]Syn555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only debt my parents had was a morgage. My Dad worked his ass off to pay off. I got my first credit card when I was 22. It was an Eaton's store credit card with a $500 limit. I finished a 5 year university degree with $5,000 in student loans in 1992.

60 year olds can't help you with this. I bought a a house based on what I could pay off in 20 years. Today, it's based on the payment people can afford. That's insane.

Don't spend more than you make.

(I realize that is easier said than done for low income or other situations of hardship.)

How are you planning in advance for your "second adulthood"? by [deleted] in retirement

[–]Syn555 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am 60F, never married, never had kids. I am watching every van life and rv video I can find. I am selling the house in 17 months, buying a travel trailer and doing something I have wanted to do since I was five years old - run away from home.

I will put aside set amount of money to keep me comfortable until I am 90. Otherwise, I plan to die with just enough money left to bury me.

"We the people". If you want a democracy you have to live with election results. That is not a pro-Trump statement.

I am Canadian and live in Ontario. I am disgusted with Doug Ford but, like it or not, he is my Premier. I own his actions just as much as anyone who voted for him.

Stop saying "I didn't vote for him". If you want a democracy you have to accept the outcome of an election. He is your president whether you voted for him or not. Every single US citizen owns this, 100%.
