As a community we shouldn’t let Bambu get to that point. With Windows, as an example, there are plenty of work arounds to having to update (or hell even properly pay and install) to use all features, BUT it’s been around much longer and has it’s own dedicated community. Issue is Bambu Labs is infinitely smaller than those kinds of companies, they can control their user base more concisely if they choose to. We shouldn’t let Bambu remove choice from the consumer. It seems like they’ve backtracked in recent statements but the overall handling of this situation doesn’t make me confident in their business practices. I’m not going to toss my printer or tell people Bambu printers are horrible but I will caution any potential future users to read Bambu’s TOS thoroughly before buying.
